Linda Gibson Johnson - Let Me Hold On To You

Matthew 11:28-29

------------------------------------------------

Hello,

In the past, I've posted several songs by Sister Linda Gibson—and they have all been in an up-tempo, Gospel style.

Buy Me Gold!

I Call Him My Everything!

I Got Saved In The Old Time Way!

I've Got It!

Today—I happened across Let Me Hold On To You—from her CD Tear Off The Roof Live!

This song is a ballad—and the lyrics are less direct than in others by her—but still point to our need for Jesus—not just when times are good—but in our darkest hours.

I've transcribed the lyrics and posted them under the music-only video below.

Enjoy!

Let me Hold On To You - Lyrics

There was the sound of distant thunder,
Lightning flashing from a summer storm,
He awoke in the middle of the night,
Searching for comfort in my arms,

I could feel him tremble,
As he placed his little hand into mine,
He whispered Mommy I'm afraid,
As he snuggled closer to my side,

And he said, let me hold onto you,
So I won't fall,
I want your hand in mine,
Right through it all,

I'm afraid of this darkness,
And I can't see the light at all,
So let me hold on to you,
So I won't fall,

She was nearing her journeys end,
And she knew her destination was in sight,
She tried not to fear the crossing,
But she needed a little peace of mind,

But standing on the shore,
Was Someone that she recognized,
And as He held out his hand to her,
She drew closer to His side,

And she said, let me hold onto You,
So I won't fall,
I want Your Hand in mine,
Right through it all,

I'm afraid of this darkness,
And I can't see the light at all,
So let me hold on to You,
So I won't fall,

I'm afraid of this darkness,
And I can't see the light at all,
So let me hold on to You,
So I won't fall,

Let me hold on to You,
So I won't fall.....

Thanks so much for stopping by!

May God Richly Bless you!

Jesus is LORD!

Time is growing short!

Seek Him!

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
