MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Joy to the World - Pentatonics

Merry Christmas 2018!

Today—many Christians around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ—God's Only Son and the Savior of mankind!

Micah 5:2 - Painting:  Adoration Of The Infant Jesus - Mattias Stomer - (1600-1652)

Recently—I searched high and low for a version of the wonderful Christmas Carol Joy To The World to share on this joyous day.

Many renditions are excellent—but I was looking for one that represented the incomparable exuberance we Christians feel about the birth of Jesus—which gives Redemption, Salvation, Grace, Healing, and Blessings to all who believe in Jesus as Lord!

 -------------------------------

Finally—although I'd over-looked it many times—I gave Pentatonix's take on Joy To The World a listen.

At last the version I was looking for!

 -------------------------------

I pray you will agree—and feel your spirit lifted as we celebrate the King of Glory, the Lord of Lords—Jesus the Messiah!!

Matthew 1:23

I have the video cued to start at the beginning of the song at 17 seconds in.

Lyrics are found under it.

Joy To The World - Lyrics

Joy to the world!
Joy to the world!

Joy to the world! The Lord is come
Let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing

Joy to the world!
Joy to the world!

Joy to the world! The Savior reigns
Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods
Rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy

Joy to the world now we sing
(Let the earth receive her King!)
Joy to the world now we sing
(Let the angel voices ring)
Joy to the world now we sing
(Let the men their songs employ)
Joy to the world now we sing
(And repeat the sounding joy)

He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove (and makes the nations prove)
And glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love!
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love!

And wonders, wonders of His love!

Joy to the world now we sing
(Let the earth receive her King!)
Joy to the world now we sing
(Let the angel voices ring)

What Child Is This - Mercy Me

John 1:14
Hi!

Can you believe another Christmas is almost upon us—and that we're about to turn the calendar to 2019?

Time flies!

: )

------------------------------

I found an excellent version of What Child Is This by the band, Mercy Me—and love what they did with this old carol—especially their additional praise at the end.

The video is over-laid with some exquisite old paintings that illustrate the lyrics beautifully.

I pray this music will speak the Light of life into your heart—the Grace and Mercy—of the Creator and Lord of All—Jesus the Son of God, the Messiah and Savior!

Lyrics are included under the video.

What Child Is This

What child is this,
Who, laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet
While shepherds watch are keeping

This, this is Christ the King
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, haste to bring Him laud
The babe, the son of Mary

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh
Come, peasant, King, to own Him
The King of kings salvation brings
Let loving hearts enthrone Him

This, this is Christ the King
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, haste to bring Him laud
The babe, the son of Mary

Hallelujah!

What child is this,
Who, laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping

Hallelujah!  < Meaning "Praise The Lord")

Whom angels greet with anthems sweet
While shepherds watch are keeping

Hallelujah!

Hallelujah!

Raise, raise the son on high
The virgin sings her lullaby
Joy, joy for Christ is born
The babe, the son of Mary

This, this is Christ the King
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, haste to bring Him laud
The babe, the son of Mary

O Come, O Come Emmanuel - Anna Hawkins

Music Video Below

Hello!

It's hard to believe another year is almost over and we are counting the days down until Christmas 2018—and will soon usher in 2019!

I hope you've had a good year and that God will Bless you abundantly in the next!

--------------------------------

As I wrote in a recent post—I'm filled with the joy of Christmas this year because I'm realizing more and more all the meaning of the birth of Jesus and the gifts His Life and Sacrifice ushered into this world some 2,000 years ago.

I pray you are also experiencing His Love, Peace, Healing, and Mercy!

--------------------------------

Today's' music is a beautiful Christmas carol sung by Anna Hawkins—filmed in Israel—and sung in both Hebrew and English—and from her album 'Divine.'

Fortunately she provided words in both languages—as well as the Hebrew Alphabet Version—and those are included under the video below.

---------------------------------

Anna is beautiful and has a lovely voice—and her performance is accentuated by seeing scenes of the Holy Land around her.

I pray this music will speak deep into your heart the wondrous Blessing of knowing the Messiah—Jesus, Lord of lords, and King of kings!

Hi!

Christmas 2018—when many Christians the world over celebrate the birth of Jesus the Messiah—is rapidly approaching.

As mentioned in a recent post—I've been looking for appropriate Christmas music to share with you—and just found this lovely version of O Holy Night by the Irish group Celtic Woman.

According to their website, Celtic Woman has been performing since 1996 and is based in Dublin, the capitol of Ireland.  They've released a number of concert videos and albums with songs often reflecting Christian themes.

Today's video features their beautiful live performance of O Holy Night—inter-cut with related images and video illuminating the song.

I pray their version of O Holy Night will Bless you—and fill your heart to over-flowing with the the Love,Comfort, and Healing of Jesus the Christ during this holiday season and forever more!!

 O Holy Night - Lyrics

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother
And in his name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name

Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
Noel *, Noel, O night, O night divine,

Noel, Noel, O night, O night divine,

* Noel is defined as “a shout of joy or Christmas song.”

The Piano Guys - Angels We Have Heard On High - Medley

Music Video Below

--------------------------------

Gloria in excelsis Deo = Glory to God in the highest

--------------------------------

Hi!

Whether you chose to celebrate the 25th as Jesus' birth—I hope this Holiday Season is finding you happy and surrounded by God's goodness and the people you love!!

Throughout this year God has been Blessing me tremendously—and so I'm filled with more Christmas spirit than any year before!

---------------------------

In 2013—The Piano Guys posted a wonderful video of them performing the Christmas Carol Angels We Have Heard On High (with a medley of other Christmas songs).

I'll let their video description elaborate:

"MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyone!

Here's our version of 'Angels We Have Heard on High,' with a few other Christmas favorites mixed in. Can you name them all?

We wrote and performed this in the same style of our music video "What Makes You Beautiful."  ALL the sounds you hear were created by different parts of the piano (except the vocals of course).

Luke 2:8-11 - Important Note:  Not a Photo Of Actual Angels Or Shepherds  : )

As we wrote it we imagined the 'shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.' And how the Angel appeared to them, announcing the humble birth of the Savior of the World.

How incredible it would have been when, 'suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!' (Holy Bible, Luke Chapter 2)

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We love you!"

------------------------------------

Please give this lovely Christmas video a spin—and let it remind you of God's Grace, Mercy, Love, Healing, and Forgiveness!

Painting:  Charles Le Brun - Adoration of the Shepherds - 1689

Hi!

The count-down to Christmas Day is in full swing.

Whether you chose to celebrate the 25th as the day of Jesus' birth or not—I hope you are having a great season—are surrounded by family and friends—and most especially that you are flooded to overflowing with God's Wondrous Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, and Peace.

---------------------------

Recently, I've been searching for Christmas songs to share here and am finding some beautiful versions of many which I'll be sharing now through Christmas Day.

Today we'll kick it off with one an old familiar favorite Carol.

Though far from a traditional rendering— the band Mercy Me recorded an upbeat and refreshing take on Silent Night (with Amy Grant offering some additional vocals)—and it was "music" to my ears.

: )

I hope you'll enjoy and be Blessed by it too!

Silent Night - Lyrics

Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm, (I'm singin') all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace!
O—Sleep in heavenly peace!

Silent night! Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born!

Silent night!  (Such a silent night)
Holy night!  (O—what a Holy, Holy Night)
Son of God (Son of God)
O—Love's pure light  (O—what a lovely light)
Radiant beams from Thy Holy face
O—With the dawn of redeeming Grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth!
Jesus, Lord at thy birth!

How Great Thou Art - Anthem Lights

Isaiah 41:10

Hi!

Recently—I found another AWESOME version of "How Great Thou Art" sung by the four young men of Anthem Lights—who each take a solo turn—and also blend their voices in this beautiful rendition from their CD Hymns.

Their version starts out very softly and reverently—and then they power things up a notch by the last line of the final verse and full throated refrain!

I pray this song and video will Bless you and flood and fill your heart with His Goodness, , Mercy, Forgiveness, Blessings, Healing, and Love  — in the Name above all names, the King of kings and Lord of lords — Jesus the Messiah and Savior of the world!

How Great Thou Art - Lyrics

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

[Refrain]
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

[Verse 2]
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

[Refrain]
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

[Verse 3]
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

[Refrain]
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

God Gave His Best · Evelyn Turrentine-Agee

Hebrews 7:26-28

Hi!

Through Ms D's Gospel Radio Show heard in Phoenix Arizona on KXEG 1280 AM Radio—I discovered Gospel Quartet Paradise Weekend Special with Leander Williams—who had been posting recordings of Miss D's program.

On 11-3-18—Williams uploaded his latest show to YouTube—and I always enjoy checking out what he's been playing.

One track stood out for me—God Gave His Best by Evelyn Turrentine-Agee.

If you've been to this blog before you'll know I'm partial to that up-tempo Gospel sound.  There is just something so infectious about it—especially when it's combined with lyrics that speak of the Truth!

In this case—God Gave His Best has BOTH!

BTW—I LOVE when Evelyn and the band "break it down" at about 1:25!

: )

I pray this song will Bless you as you listen and speak into your heart the truth of God's Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, Healing, and Peace!!

You'll find the lyrics under the "Music-Only" video.

God Gave His Best - Lyrics

He gave the best he had —
When he gave Jesus!
He gave the best he had —

When He gave His Son!

He gave the best He had to give —
And my life for Him I'll live!
He gave the best He had to prove His Love for me!

God gave His Son
His Name is Jesus!
He came and gave His life
As a ransom for me

He bled and died
As a living sacrifice
He did it all to prove His love for me

(Chorus)

(Break-Down) —

Oh-oh-oh —

God gave His best
God gave His best

He gave His best and nothing less
Yes he did

God gave His best
Yeah -

He gave His best and nothing less
Yes He did

'Cause God Loves us so much
He gave His only - Yeah — His only — His only begotten Son

And He said whosoever  — Believeth in me
Shall not perish — But they'll have everlasting life!
