Come Ye Sinners - Jami Smith

Hi!

I pray you are feeling Blessed today!

Recently I heard a snippet of Come Ye Sinners by Jami Smith on my car radio—and looked it up on-line when I got home.

I ended up loving the track's entire feel, arrangement, guitar parts, production, Jami's voice and backing vocals—and the appeal for all of us to "Run To Jesus"—the Lord of life and the King of Glory!

I pray it will also speak to your heart—and draw you closer to the King of kings—Jesus, our beautiful, living Savior!

Come Ye Sinners - Lyrics

Come ye sinners, poor and needy
Weak and wounded, sick and sore
Jesus ready, stands to save you
Full of Pity, Love and Power

Come ye thirsty, come and welcome
God's free bounty, glorify
True belief and true repentance
Every Grace that brings us nigh

I will rise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
And in the arms of my dear Savior
Oh, there are ten thousand charms

Wordnik: Definition of Charm
Come ye weary, heavy-laden
Lost and ruined by the fall
If you tarry until you're better
You may never come at all

I will rise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
And in the arms of my dear Savior
Oh, there are ten thousand charms
Ten thousand charms
Ten thousand charms

I will rise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
And in the arms of my dear Savior
Oh, there are ten thousand charms

I will rise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
And in the arms of my dear Savior
Oh, there are ten thousand charms
Ten thousand charms

Calling You
Needing You
Hear our cry, God
Loving You

I'm calling You
I'm needing You
Hear our cry, God
We are loving You

Oh, there are ten thousand charms

In the arms
In the loving arms of Jesus
Oh, my Jesus
There are ten thousand charms

Calling You
I'm Needing You
Hear our cry, God
We are loving You

I'm calling You
I'm needing You
I'm loving You
Hear our cry.....

Larry Norman - Sweet Sweet Song of Salvation - Live Acoustic

Video included under brief commentary:

----------------------------

Hello Brothers and Sisters,

The late Larry Norman is rightly credited as a pioneer of the Jesus rock movement in the late 1960's and 70's.

According to an entry on Wikipedia, he recorded more than 100 albums—before he went to his eternal reward in 2008.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Norman

The first time I encountered Norman's music was on an old vinyl record my mom ordered from a Christian rally, Explo 72, that aired on TV at that time.

Some in the press then called that event the "Christian Woodstock, and it "drew more than 80,000 college and high school students to the Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas, Texas in 1972 [during the] height of the Jesus Movement."

Recorded at that rally and included on the album—Norman's rendition of his original Gospel tune, Sweet Sweet Song Of Salvation—featured just his solo voice and guitar—was loose and joyful—and it definitely made an impression on me back in the day.

Recently, I discovered a video of him reprising that performance at a little church in London, Ontario, Canada in 1993—and you'll find it embedded below.

His performance is a wee bit understated due to some pretty serious health issues he was having—but evidence of his humor and some of his "rocker" personality were still present (especially as he warms up towards the end)—and best of all his faith in and love for Jesus comes shinning through.

-------------------------------

I pray that Norman's music will Bless you and that you will allow the Lord of lords and King of kings, Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, to flood his Light and Love into your heart and life!

Sweet Sweet Song of Salvation -  Lyrics

When you know a pretty story
You don't let it go unsaid
You tell it to your children
As you tuck them into bed
And when you know a wonderful secret
You tell it to your friends
Tell them that a lifetime filled with Jesus
Is like a street that never ends

Sing that sweet sweet song of salvation
And let your laughter fill the air
Sing that sweet, sweet song of salvation
Tell the people everywhere
Sing that sweet, sweet, song of salvation
To every man and every nation
Sing that sweet, sweet song of salvation
And let the people know that Jesus cares

Take a look around you as you sing it

There are people everywhere
And to those who stop to listen
Your sweet song becomes a prayer
So if you know a wonderful secret
Tell it to your friends
Tell them that a lifetime filled with—you know who
Is like a street that never ends

Sing that sweet, sweet song of salvation
And let your laughter fill the air
Sing that sweet, sweet song of salvation
And tell the people everywhere

Sing that sweet, sweet song of salvation
To every man—every nation
Sing that sweet, sweet song of salvation
And let the people know that Jesus cares

Telecast - Quiet Revolution

"Music-Only" Video Below

------------------------------

Hello,

Today's Gospel track is from a Spokane, Washington group called Telecast—a band that's been on the Christian music scene since releasing their first CD in 2003.

In 2008 they released an album called Quiet Revolution—which is also the name of the song embedded below in a "music-only" video.

(Credit- Above info about Telecast above found here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecast_(band)  )

------------------------------

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

If you've known Jesus as Lord for any length of time—you'll likely already know from experience that God works in our hearts and lives—refining and changing us according to His Spirit within us.

Sometimes when people first come to know Jesus their lives are instantly transformed. Many people testify that they've been miraculously set free from additions, illnesses, and other issues that have enslaved them for years.

Others discover as they walk with God—He works over time in their lives to change their tastes, actions, and desires—in His "Quiet Revolution" within our heart.

Looking back over my life, both have certainly been true for me.  Also—it's very important for me to share—that through the years as I've read the Bible—it has "renewed" my heart and mind and enabled me to more fully understand God's will for the world and my life.

Romans 12:2

BTW:  Have you ever read the Bible from cover to cover?  I have—and really recommend it.  Many just read a chapter or verse here or there—or only rely on a preacher or author to tell them what it says.  But reading the Bible from beginning to end—not only lets you see for yourself everything in it—but will give you context, and help in fully understanding God's wonderful plan for His people and the world—and will help you tremendously in your walk with our Lord!

Don't be troubled if you encounter sections that are difficult to understand—because, over time, God will be faithful to bring you wisdom and knowledge as you meditate on it.

In addition, I often pray, before I begin reading, that God will open my heart and mind to what He is trying to teach me.

Also—I recommend not sweating over genealogies or passages where details like measurements and so-on are gone over—unless you're into those kinds of things.  I usually read fairly quickly through them—and don't worry too much about that.

Nevertheless—I believe those kinds of things are important—and many who really want to dig deeply into the Bible can gather amazing insights about God and our place in this world from them.

: )

-------------------------------

I pray this post and today's music will Bless you—and speak into your heart and life the Love, Power, and Abundant Mercy and Grace of our Heavenly Father—purchased for us by Jesus the Christ and Savior—though His sacrificial death on the cross and Resurrection.

Quiet Revolution - Lyrics

This imagery of love and truth
Your beauty and infinitude
I am mesmerized by You, my love

I'm building memories of You
You who made the sun and moon
Jesus, I have been consumed by You

Over and over Your blood washes over
In infinite waves of love
Over and under
Your presence it covers
And I've been embraced by the Son
It's a quiet revolution

Your majesty and mystery
Your goodness and Your sovereignty
Fear and love embracing synergy (?)
For You alone I will adore
For I have knelt upon Your shore
Gazed upon Your sea of love

Over and over Your blood washes over
In infinite waves of love
Over and under
Your presence it covers
And I've been embraced by the Son
Over and over Your blood washes over

In infinite waves of love
Over and under
Your presence it covers
And I've been embraced by the Son
It's a quiet revolution (x7)

Thank ya Jesus  - Lyrics

Thank ya Jesus
(Thank ya Jesus for blessing me)

Thank ya, thank ya (2x)

You opened doors that shut in my face
Thank ya, thank ya

You looked beyond my faults and saw all my needs
I just want to thank ya

You blessed me time after time
Lord you gave me my peace of mind
You blessed me when times got rough
And if it had not been for you
I don't know what I'd do

You blessed me when I didn't deserve it
Now I'm leaning and depending on you
To guide me through

Thank ya Jesus
(Thank ya Jesus for blessing me)

Thank ya, thank ya Thank ya Jesus

Thank you Jesus
Thank you Jesus
Thank you
You looked beyond my faults and saw all my needs
I just want to thank you

God Did It - Lyrics

Spoken:  Come on clap your hands—let's give God some praise for the good things He's done

Everything that happened to me that was good
God did it
(God did it)
Yes He did
(Oh, yes He did)

Repeats

He picked me up
Turned me all around
Placed my feet on solid ground

Everything that happened to me that was good
God did it
(God did it)
Yes He did
(Oh, yes He did)

Repeats

See once I was lost
Out in the world of sin
Jesus came and took me on in

Everything that happened to me that was good
God did it
(God did it)
Yes He did
(Oh, yes He did)

Repeats

I've been sick
I thought I couldn't get well
But He healed my body and now I got to tell that—

Everything that happened to me that was good
God did it
(God did it)
I know He did
(Oh, yes He did)

 God did it
(God did it)
And I thank Him
(Oh, yes He did)

God did it
(God did it)
Yes He did
(Oh, yes He did)

Vocals repeat with variations

Downhere - How Many Kings

Luke 4:14-21 - Painting (detail):  James Tissot (1886-1894)

Hello brothers and sisters,

Today's awesome music—How Many Kings by the band Downhere—could certainly be considered a Christmas song because it references the "Star," the birth in the manger, the gifts of the Magi, and our "new-born" Savior—Jesus the Messiah, the Lord of lords.

But this song is so beautiful—and such a Blessing to me—that I couldn't wait another 10 months to share it with you!

Not to mention that celebrating Jesus birth is definitely something Christians like me feel like doing through-out the year!

------------------------------

I pray that as you listen—you will also be Blessed beyond measure by the Grace and Goodness of God's gift to us through the sacrifice of His Son—Jesus!

How Many Kings - Lyrics

Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe after all we've projected
A child in a manger

Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliness hero, wrapped in his mothers shawl
Just a child
Is this who we've waited for?

Cause how many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?

How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

Bringing our gifts for the newborn savior
All that we have whether costly or meek
Because we believe

Gold for his honor and frankincense for his pleasure
And myrrh for the cross he'll suffer
Do you believe
Is this who we've waited for?

How many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?

How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only One did that for me

All for me
All for you
All for me
All for you

How many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?

How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only one did that for me

All for me
All for you
