If you've followed 'Contemporary Christian Music' since it's early beginnings — then you'll likely be familiar with the name, Phil Keaggy.

Keaggy is a talented guitarist, singer, and songwriter who was an early pioneer of Christian Soft Rock — beginning his music career in the late 1960 with the band Glass Harp - and since then he has released "more than 50 albums and [has] contributed to many [other] recordings in both the contemporary Christian music and mainstream markets."

Though, before becoming a Christian in his late teens, Keaggy went through some very dark times, first experimenting with and and having a terrible experience with drugs, and then losing his mother in an automobile accident in 1970.

After his mother's death and through his sister's influence, he became a Christian, fittingly on Valentines Day.

In 1973, after recording several albums with Glass Harp and managing to get some of his Christian themed songs included on them, he recorded his first solo Contemporary Christian album, What A Day.

Though the title track, through the addition of applause sound effects, sounds like it was recorded live, a Wikipedia article about Keaggy suggests he played all the instruments on this first solo album.

You'll find a 'music-only' video of Keaggy's original recording of What A Day as found on that his solo album under the first video.

While the first video features a more recent live solo performance of the song, where Keaggy reveals his estimable guitar prowess, utilizing digital effects pedals that allow him to play a section of music and then add to or improvise leads over it — with an enjoyable extended "jam" over his own playing towards the end.

I pray Keaggy's music will Bless you and inspire you to seek after the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart — and that you will allow Him to flood and fill your life with His Comfort, Healing, Love, and Grace!

What A Day - Lyrics

When I get Home I will see all
The holy men I read about
Peter and John, James, Luke, and Paul
And brother Tom without a doubt

And I do believe there will be King David at the harp
A song of praise with every chord
What a sight to see, the redeemed and the angels gathered round
Worshiping the Lord

What a day that will be
Oh what a day that will be!

When we get Home, our Eternal Home
There'll be no more sick and dying
No one is sad, no one is alone
And there will be no more crying

He will wipe away every tear from His children's eyes
And put a smile upon their faces
What a happy day when we see Our Lord in Paradise
Crowned as King of Kings

What a day that will be
Oh what a day that will be!

What a day that will be
What a day that will be

What a day
What a day
That will be!

You can begin your new life with Jesus as Lord right now!

   Romans 10:9-10

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

---------------------------------

If you've made this decision—believed it in your heart and confessed it with your mouth—let God speak to you by reading the Bible—and seek out fellowship with others who also believe.

Pour out your heart to God in Prayer (simply speaking to Him in reverence)—asking Him to reveal Himself to you and to provide for your needs.

Life in Jesus is the best decision you will ever make.

God Bless You!
