1 Peter 4:12-19 - New International Version (NIV)

Suffering for Being a Christian

12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on
you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

13 But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so
that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for
the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind
of criminal, or even as a meddler.

16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise
God that you bear that name.

17 For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And,

“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”[a]

19 So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.

-----------------------------------------

Hi!

In the scripture above, Peter writes about "suffering for being a Christian" and compares it to being like a "fiery ordeal" that comes upon us" leaving us feeling as though as if "something strange" is happening.

King David's cries to the Lord recorded in Psalms show us that even a "man after God's own heart" can wonder about the troubling ordeals he faced.

Knowing these times, are nothing but a moment when compared to a glorious eternal life with God in heaven can help us, and as God says in Revelation 21:4: ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Nevertheless, there are periods on this earth when our journey can be so strange, painful and confusing.  When we struggle to pray wondering if we are being heard.  When things can seems so endlessly dark.  When illness invades our lives and we search for healing and some kind of meaning to make it all make sense.

Christian artist Randy Stonehill wrote a beautiful song that expresses, as David did over 3,000 years ago, that we can often find our faith mixed with confusion as we journey through this life.

In his song, called "Beyond The Veil," Stonehill acknowledges this dichotomy, while also giving a clear expression to knowing that now we can only see in a mirror dimly, but someday we will see Him face to face!

(1 Corinthians 13:12)

With that in mind, no matter what you are going through, I hope and pray that this song will speak to your heart and Bless you!

Thank you for stopping by!

(Lyrics below)

BEYOND THE VEIL

The fiber of this life is paper thin
A spider's web can be torn by a shift in the wind
And the mirror pool is shattered when you toss a pebble in

CHORUS:
And I'm not afraid to admit that I'm afraid
Bewildered by the great and the terrible way we're made
Oh that my eyes could shed these scales
I can almost make out the shape of a face
Just beyond the veil

Questions crowd my heart and will not pass
My prayers are lost in silence and the sky is like brass
But I'll stay on my knees until my answer comes at last

CHORUS

BRIDGE:
Closer to the flame
We drink our cup of pain
And it burns us to the bone
In the fire we find a strength
Greater than our own
Than our own

Hi!

This morning I thought I'd post a beautiful version of the Worship song:  "Hallelujah Praise The Lamb" sung by Joseph Larson with the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries Band.

It's a wonderful song of Praise, written by a teenage girl (see link below), and is delivered reverently and skillfully by Larson and the Praise Team.

So who is the Lamb Of God?  http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-Lamb-of-God.html

Quoting from that page:  "When Jesus is called the Lamb of God in John 1:29 and John 1:36, it is referring to Him as the perfect and ultimate sacrifice for sin. In order to understand who Christ was and what He did, we must begin with the Old Testament, which contains prophecies concerning the coming of Christ as a “guilt offering” (Isaiah 53:10). In fact, the whole sacrificial system established by God in the Old Testament set the stage for the coming of Jesus Christ, who is the perfect sacrifice God would provide as atonement for the sins of His people (Romans 8:3; Hebrews 10)."

The lyrics are posted below the video, and and you can learn more about how it was written by following this link:

I hope your Spirit will be lifted as you listen to this awesome Worship song

Hallelujah Praise The Lamb - Lyrics

From the moment man first disobeyed the Father
We were then held captive by our sin
The law of God demanded a sacrifice
Restoring to Himself His own again

So the Lamb,
His only Son was freely offered
Atonement for our sins forever made
The innocent and holy still God and God only
Would ransom and redeems us back again

Hallelujah Praise the Lamb
Hallelujah Praise the Lamb
My heart sings his Praise again
Hallelujah Praise the Lamb

So to the cross they carried him
With all our guilt and all our sin
The lamb of God was slain for our transgressions
And on the cross those nail pierced hands
Reached up to God and down to man
And just as if I'd never sinned
He took me in his arms
Embracing me He willingly forgave

For mercy, grace, and love that knows no bounds
Though guilty and condemned I now am free
Forever I'm forgiven for Christ the Lord is risen
And risen with Him we shall one day be

Oh, Hallelujah Praise the Lamb
Hallelujah Praise the Lamb
My heart sings his Praise again
Hallelujah Praise the Lamb

Hallelujah Praise the Lamb
Hallelujah Praise the Lamb
My heart sings His Praise again
Hallelujah Praise the Lamb

Hallelujah Praise the Lamb
My heart sings his Praise again
Hallelujah Praise the Lamb
Praise the Lamb

Job 38:4-11 - New International Version (NIV)

The Lord Speaks

38 Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:

“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
    Tell me, if you understand.
Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
On what were its footings set,
    or who laid its cornerstone—
while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels[a] shouted for joy?

“Who shut up the sea behind doors
when it burst forth from the womb,
when I made the clouds its garment
and wrapped it in thick darkness,
10 when I fixed limits for it
and set its doors and bars in place,
11 when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther;
here is where your proud waves halt’?

Just below you'll find an embedded video of "Redeemer" sung by Nicole C Mullen.

It's a beautiful song with inspired lyrics, and I pray it will Bless you and give you Peace!

(lyrics under video)

"Redeemer"

Who taught the sun
Where to stand in the morning
And who told the ocean
You can only come this far
And who showed the moon
Where to hide till evening
Whose words alone can
Catch a falling star

Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
All of creation testifies
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives
Yeah

The very same God
That spins things in orbit
Runs to the weary
The worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands
That hold me when I'm broken
They conquer death to bring me victory

Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer

He lives to take away my shame
And He lives forever I'll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He's alive and there's an empty grave

And I know my Redeemer, He lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry

I know my Redeemer
I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
I know that, I know that, I know that, I know that, I know
I know my Redeemer lives
(Because He lives I can face tomorrow)
He lives, I know, I know, I know.
He lives
(I spoke with Him this morning.)

He lives.
(The tomb is empty)
He lives.
(I've got to tell everybody)

Hello!

I listened to "Revelation Song" by Phillips,Craig And Dean recently...and think it is beautiful.

The video someone did to accompany it is pretty moving too!

Hope you will feel the same way!

"Revelation Song"

Worthy is the
Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to Him who sits on
Heaven's Mercy Seat
[Repeat]

Chorus:

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and
Glory and power be
To You the Only Wise King

[Chorus]

Holy, Holy,
You are Holy

Filled with wonder
Awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your Name
Jesus, Your Name is Power
Breath, and Living Water
Such a marvelous mystery

[Chorus]

Messianic Jewish Music: "Psalm 23" by Ted Pearce

"The Lord Is My Good Shepherd" - Bernhard Plockhorst - 1825 -1907 - Public Domain
"The Lord Is My Good Shepherd" - Bernhard Plockhorst - 1825 -1907 - Public Domain

Hello,

I found this "Messianic Jewish" song, Psalm 23 by Ted Pearce a long time ago.  (find the "music-only" video below)

I got as far as embedding the video into this blog post...and creating a title for it...but it's langished as a "draft" for quite a while.

Today, I was going through old blog posts and opened this one up to remind myself what the song was.

After hearing it again...I wondered...what's taken me so long to finally publish this??!!

The song and music are peaceful and gentle, and the lyrics are taken straight from the ESV version of Psalm 23.

I hope you will give it a listen and be as Blessed as I am by it!

Thank you for stopping by!

May God RICHLY Bless you!
