Awesome Christian Music: Beckah Shae - Heartbeat

Embedded below you'll find the awesome song, Heartbeat, from Christian singer / songwriter Beckah Shae.

According to her website, in 2005, "Beckah Shae and her husband, manager/producer Jack Shocklee, established Shae Shoc Records — and have since written, created and released 13 full studio projects together."

Her site offers the following additional information about her:

Beckah Shae - Screen Capture From The Video Below
In 2010 Shae began traveling and performing globally with several top charting radio singles — and along the way, earned numerous awards and accolades from the Christian Recording Industry, performed on the GMA Dove Awards, and was featured on The 700 Club,” “RevolutionTV,” JCTV, and TBN’s “Praise The Lord.

She has also collaborated with numerous multi-platinum album sellers, multiple Grammy Award winners, and hit co-writers and gospel legends including tobyMac — and her music has been used on movie and TV soundtracks.

Family roots have given Shae a deep connection, strong love, and support for Israel, and she has been to Jerusalem every year since 2012 to take part in and lead worship at the “All Nations Convocation."

Shae filmed the "impromptu" music video (found below) for her song “Heartbeat” off of her 2014 album “Champion.”

"I was in route to Jerusalem, literally asking God to forgive me for not preparing and making plans to film a video to this song. As soon as I showed up, the host shared with me about a couple from France who God spoke to on their way to Jerusalem at the same time, about helping me to film a video! I was amazed. We did this in two days with no plan. God had the plan all along."

Screen Capture From The Video Found Below With YouTube Comment (Insert)

God did indeed work to allow Shae to create a moving and powerful video — and comments under it on YouTube show that it is impacting lives and hearts and leading people to a closer walk with the Lord of life — Jesus the Messiah — the Risen King of Glory!

As you watch the video, may God also speak to your heart about His Wonderful, Abundant Mercy and Grace — and Bless, Comfort, and Heal you — in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords!

The Imperials - Be Still My Soul

According to an article by Sandra Brennan, The Imperials, have been recording and performing since 1964.

She adds:

"Over the years, 18 different singers have come and gone in the Gospel band, including such legends as Russ Taff, Paul Smith, and Gary McSpadden. Other Contemporary Christian Music pop performers such as Jonathan Pierce also got their start with the Imperials."

Some of the band's greatest popular success came in 1977, when at just 22 years of age Taff joined the band, and they recorded a number of highly regarded songs and albums with him from 1977-1981.

Today you'll find a "music-only" video embedded below of The Imperials' beautiful song, Be Still My Soul, with Taff on lead vocals, recorded in 1980.

Psalm 46:1-3 - Photo: Ray Bilcliff

Taff knows something about earthly trials and has spoken about his difficult childhood — sharing that his dad was a verbally abusive alcoholic and his mother beat him.

Later he battled his own addiction to alcohol — and when combined with his childhood trauma — he felt far from the man God had called him to be.

Thankfully, God is faithful, and when Taff was at the end of his ropes, he discovered that God had been working in his life and he was ultimately set free from his emotional pain and addiction.

Read more and see an interview he gave about that here:

Be Still My Soul - Lyrics

Surrounded by the cares of life
Situations rise, they press against my soul
Desperate thoughts have blocked me in
Feels like I may lose control

A voice from somewhere inside of me
Brings comfort and fills my heart with courage
And lets me know everything will be alright

(I hear Him say)
Be still my soul and know that He is God
(He is God)
Stand quietly
He is the Lord
If God is for me who can be against me?
(He is God)
Be still my soul
He is the Lord

Teach me Lord to stay with You
When my emotions try to rule me
Remind me Lord of who I am
Show me what You want me to be

In His great strength and confidence
Knowing that You are with me
I'm not afraid of tomorrow
What waits ahead

(I hear Him say)
Be still, my soul and know that He is God
(He is God)
Stand quietly
He is the Lord

If God is for me who can be against me?
(He is God)
Be still my soul
He is the Lord

Be still my soul
He is the Lord

He is the Lord!

I Still Believe - The Call

A movie I saw recently had a snippet of the song I Still Believe by The Call.

Over the last couple of days it's been stuck in my mind — and its gritty lyrics about Faith and Belief in the face of ALL adversity has been in my thoughts.

Its "music-only" video and the song's lyrics are found under the following commentary.

--------------------------

Now that a handful of companies own most of the media in the US — most radio stations tend to rely on national satellite feeds that recycle the same music "hits" over and over — so unfortunately a lot of what is heard on the radio sounds pretty much the same all across the US.

That's far cry from years ago when I lived in a mid-sized college town and listened to a great radio station there that allowed disc-jockeys to choose all the music they played.

So the DJs at that now defunct station might play a blues song, then something jazz leaning, and then a deep cut from a rock band, and so on — depending on their tastes and mood.

I was a Christian then but pretty undiscerning when it came to music, and I listened to and bought a LOT of the popular music of the day, even though most of it was at war with my values and beliefs — something I really didn't fully understand at the time.

Still, I longed for music that resonated with my Christian faith — so one day while listening to that free-form station I heard a song with lyrical images that came from the Old Testament.

The Walls Came Down, from The Call — drew from Joshua 6:20 as a theme — although there were also some lines about the politics of the day mixed in as well.

So when I considered their name, The Call (which is often used by Christians to indicate a life of service to Jesus) and Biblically leaning lyrics — it made me very curious about the band and I wondered if there were indeed any Christians involved with them.

Through the years, after The Call had "made my radar" — I'd occasionally hear their music on the radio and continued to feel that Christian themes were present in their lyrics.

This was all in a time long before the internet and one could just do a "search" to find out more about things — even so I became reasonably convinced that their songs were written by a Christian — and somewhere along the way I learned that the band's singer, bassist, and songwriter was Michael Been.

The Greatest Christian Albums of All Time Blog offers thorough look into Been and The Call's history — and reveals I wasn't the only one picking up on their Christian vibe — and an article there states emphatically that Been, who passed away in 2010, was indeed a Believer.

That blog reveals that Been had performed with secular rock heavy-hitters — and was involved with several early influential Christian Rock Albums/Bands — most notably the 2nd Chapter of Acts, and Barry McGuire.

The article elaborates that while their song, The Walls Came Down, had achieved radio air-play and heavy MTV rotation back in its day — the band had only one number one hit with their song Let The Day Begin < another awesome song with Christian themes running throughout).

In 1986, the band released I Still Believe, a song that vibrates with lyrics that address the often confusing turmoil of life, met head on by a deep unwavering Faith.

Been went home to be with the Lord in 2010 after suffering a fatal heart attack — but his music has made an impression on many.  In fact, comments under the blog article cited above, indicate that the band's music planted seeds in people's lives that ultimately led them to Jesus!

I pray that no where you are in your journey through life, that this post and music will Bless you and flood your heart, mind, and spirit with the abundant Grace and Mercy found only through Jesus the Messiah — the King of kings and Lord of lords!!

I Still Believe - Lyrics

I been in a cave
For forty days
Only a spark
To light my way
I wanna give out
I wanna give in
This is our crime
This is our sin

But I still believe
I still believe
Through the pain
And through the grief
Through the lives
Through the storms
Through the cries
And through the wars
Oh, I still believe

I'm flat on my back
Out at sea
Hopin' these waves
Don't cover me

I'm turned and tossed
Upon the waves
When the darkness comes
I feel the grave

But I still believe
I still believe
Through the cold
And through the heat
Through the rain
And through the tears
Through the crowds
And through the cheers
Oh, I still believe

I'll march this road
I'll climb this hill
Upon on my knees
If I have to
I'll take my place
Up on this stage
I'll wait 'til the end of time
For you like everybody else

I'm out on my own
Walkin' the streets
Look at the faces
That I meet
I feel like I
Like I want to go home
What do I feel
What do I know

But I still believe
I still believe
Through the shame
And through the grief
Through the heartache
Through the tears
Through the waiting
Through the years

For people like us
In places like this
We need all the hope
That we can get
Oh, I still believe

Zach Williams and Dolly Parton – There Was Jesus

Welcome,

Today's "music-only" video comes from Zach Williams and Dolly Parton with their song, There Was Jesus.

The lyrics address the winding road that many find themselves on—searching through all that the world offers—finding only brokenness and emptiness without Jesus as Lord.

I pray no matter where you are at on your journey—that this music will Bless you and fill you to overflowing with the Love, Light, Comfort, Healing, Peace, and Blessings of truly knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior.

There Was Jesus - Lyrics

Every time I try to make it on my own
Every time I try to stand, I start to fall
And all those lonely roads that I have traveled on
There was Jesus

When the life I built came crashing to the ground
When the friends I had were nowhere to be found
I couldn't see it then but I can see it now
There was Jesus

In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing, in the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute, every moment
Where I've been or where I'm going
Even when I didn't know it
Or couldn't see it
There was Jesus

For this man who needs amazing kind of grace
For forgiveness and a price I couldn't pay
I'm not perfect so I thank God every day
There was Jesus
There was Jesus

In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing, in the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute, every moment
Where I've been or where I'm going
Even when I didn't know it
Or couldn't see it

There was Jesus
On the mountains
In the valleys
There was Jesus
In the shadows
Of the alleys

There was Jesus
In the fire, in the flood
There was Jesus
Always is and always was, oh

No, I never walk alone
Never walk alone
You're always there

In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing, in the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute, every moment
Where I've been or where I'm going
Even when I didn't know it
Or couldn't see it
There was Jesus

There was Jesus
There was Jesus
There was Jesus

The Afters - Well Done - Lyric Video

Today you'll find the beautiful song Well Done by the The Afters—an American Christian band who first began performing in Texas coffee houses sometime around the year 2000.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Afters

Though this song was uploaded to YouTube in August of 2018—it only just crossed my radar when I heard it one day in my car and liked it enough to look for it on-line when I got home.

I discovered that in addition to a beautiful melody, vocals and music track—the lyrics speak to that longing each Christian feels for our Eternal home in Heaven with Jesus—free from pain and sorrow—and hearing Him say to us, "Well Done."

Well Done - Lyrics

What will it be like when my pain is gone
And all the worries of this world just fade away?
What will it be like when You call my name
And that moment when I see You face to face?

I'm waiting my whole life to hear You say

Well done, well done
My good and faithful one
Welcome to the place where you belong
Well done, well done
My beloved child
You have run the race and now you're home
Welcome to the place where you belong

What will it be like when tears are washed away
And every broken thing will finally be made whole?
What will it be like when I come into Your glory
Standing in the presence of a love so beautiful?

I'm waiting my whole life for that day
I will live my life to hear You say

Well done, well done
My good and faithful one
Welcome to the place where you belong
Well done, well done
My beloved child
You have run the race and now you're home
Welcome to the place where you belong

What will it be like when I hear that sound?
All of heaven's angels crying out:

Singing Holy, Holy, Holy are You, Lord

Waiting my whole life for that day
Until then I'll live to hear You say

Well done, well done
My good and faithful one
Welcome to the place where you belong
Well done, well done
My beloved child
You have run the race and now you're home
Welcome to the place where you belong

Beautiful Christian Music: Wood and Nails - Audrey Assad & Josh Garrels - Live

Hi brothers and sisters,

Today you'll find an absolutely beautiful song/live video from The Porter's Gate Worship Project Vol 1—featuring the voices of Audrey Assad & Josh Garrels.
.
I find its melody lyrics about the love of our Savior and Lord Jesus very moving—and it speaks to the heart of true believers who long to fellowship and be with Him—and serve Him with our lives, work, and praise.

Matthew 5:15-16
 ---------------------------------

The video's description adds this information about the song:

In June (2017), musicians, pastors, writers, and scholars from around the country gathered together in NYC to collaborate on a series of  worship songs for a new worship record themed around faith and vocation. This song was originally submitted to our songwriting contest by Keith Watts. Additional lyrics and melody by Isaac Wardell and Madison Cunningham.

-------------------------

I pray this music will resonate with you as well—and speak to heart about the unending love our beautiful Lord and Messiah Jesus has for us—and lead you into an ever deeper walk with Him!

Wood and Nails - Lyrics

O humble carpenter, down on Your hands and knees
Look on Your handiwork and build a house
So You may dwell in me
So You may dwell in me

The work was done with nothing but
Wood and nails in Your scar-borne hands
O show me how to work and praise
Trusting that I am Your instrument

O loving laborer with the sweat upon Your face
Oh, build a table that I too may join You
In the Father's place
Oh, in the Father's place

The work was done with nothing but
Wood and nails in Your scar-borne hands
O show me how to work and praise
Trusting that I am Your instrument

[Interlude]

The kingdom's come and built upon
Wood and nails gripped with joyfulness
Oh, send me out, within Your ways
Knowing that the task is finished

The dead will rise and give You praise
Wood and nails will not hold them down
These wooden tombs, we'll break them soon
And fashion them into flower beds

The curse is done, the battle won
Swords bent down into plowshares
Your scar-borne hands, we'll join with them
Serving at the table You've prepared

[Interlude]

O humble carpenter

Shepherds" - Gerard Van Honthorst - 1622
Hi!

Christmas 2018—when many Christians the world over celebrate the birth of Jesus the Messiah—is rapidly approaching.

As mentioned in a recent post—I've been looking for appropriate Christmas music to share with you—and just found this lovely version of O Holy Night by the Irish group Celtic Woman.

According to their website, Celtic Woman has been performing since 1996 and is based in Dublin, the capitol of Ireland.  They've released a number of concert videos and albums with songs often reflecting Christian themes.

Today's video features their beautiful live performance of O Holy Night—inter-cut with related images and video illuminating the song.

I pray their version of O Holy Night will Bless you—and fill your heart to over-flowing with the the Love,Comfort, and Healing of Jesus the Christ during this holiday season and forever more!!

Lyrics are under the video

 O Holy Night - Lyrics

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother
And in his name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name

Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
Noel *, Noel, O night, O night divine,

Noel, Noel, O night, O night divine,

* Noel is defined as “a shout of joy or Christmas song.”

GRACE LARSON - In The Valley He Restoreth My Soul & How Great Thou Art

Links are designed to open in a new window

Ephesians 2:8-9
Painting:  Nicolaes Maas (1634 - 1693) — Prayer Without End

Hi!

I've posted several different videos from Jimmy Swaggart's Network SonLife Broadcasting here.

Among my my personal favorites are Joseph Watson — along with the SonLife Band — performing "Didn't I walk On the Water:

Today - you'll find a live performance from Joseph's sister Grace Larson singing a medley:

In The Valley He Restoreth My Soul & How Great Thou Art

I pray as you listen God will Heal you from any infirmities — and fill your heart, mind, and soul with His great Love and Comfort.

Lyrics Below

In The Valley He Restoreth My Soul - Lyrics

When I'm low in spirit,
I cry Lord lift me up,
I want to go higher with Thee,
But the Lord knows I can't live on the Mountain,
So He picked out a valley for me,

He leads me beside still waters,
Somewhere in the valley below,
And He draws me aside,

To be tested and tried,
In the valley He restoreth my soul,

It's as dark as a dungeon,
And the sun seldom shines,
And I question Lord why must this be?
Then He tells me there's strenght in my sorrow,
And there's victory in trials for me,

Chorus

How Great Thou Art - Refrain

Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!

Zach Williams - Chain Breaker

Psalm 107:13-14 — Image - George Hodan
Hi!

Today's song in my drafts for quite a while — but I just revisited it and gave it a fresh look and listen and decided to finally share it.

Zach Williams is a Grammy winning Christian singer from Jonesboro, Arkansas — and the song Chain Breaker is from his 2016 CD with the same title.

Although the video isn't a traditional "music video" or footage from a live performance — it displays the lyrics in a very cool way — with appealing graphics and animations.

The most important part is that it points the way to Jesus!

I pray as you give this a listen — you'll feel the warmth of our Lord's power and Love come radiating on and through you!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

May God Richly Bless you!

Jesus is LORD!

Time is growing short!

Seek Him!

Romans 10:9-10

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Jonny Lang - That Great Day

Revelation 21:1-4
Hello!

In August I posted a YouTube video/song by Jonny Lang called I Believe.

https://godsbigshow.blogspot.com/2018/08/jonny-lang-i-believe.html

YouTube makes suggestions on what you've viewed in the past and promoted today's video to me:

Jonny Lang - That Great Day.

Recorded live April 18, 2011 at The Birchmere in Alexandria Virginia — it is a VERY MOVING, POWERFUL, AND HEART-FELT  performance by Lang —that speaks of being sealed with our Savior in Baptism and finally meeting meeting Him face-to-face in Heaven — where He'll wipe away every tear!

Please give it a look and listen and see if you don't agree.  : )

May God richly Bless you and fill you with his Spirit, Love and Comfort!

"That Great Day" - Lyrics

We'll meet at the river
We'll be delivered of every chain
Down into the water, children
Mothers and fathers in His sweet name

To drown all our sins
And come up again — forever changed
Never to return to the people we were
Before that great day

We'll patiently wait 'til we see His face
And when He appears to wipe all our tears forever away
Then we'll be together in Heaven forever
On that great day, on that great day

We'll patiently wait 'til we see His face
And when He appears to wipe all our tears forever away
Then we'll be together in Heaven forever
On that great day, on that great day

On that great day, on that great day!

1 Timothy 2:1-2

Hi!

As I wrote on a recent post I just recently discovered Lauren Daigle and have really been feeling Blessed by her music.

You can read more about her on that post here (link opens in new window):

This post features a song from that CD called You Say.

I hope you give it a spin and let it speak into your heart the greatness of God's Love and Peace.

Lauren Daigle - You Say - Lyrics

I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just a song of every high and every low
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know
Ooh-oh

You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And you say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe (I)
Oh I believe What You say of me (I)
I believe

The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity
Ooh oh

You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And you say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe (I)
Oh, I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
Oh, I believe

Taking all I have ans now I'm laying it at Your feet
You have every failure, God, You have every victory
Ooh oh

You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And you say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe (I)
Oh, I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe

Oh, I believe (I)
Yes I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe

Christian Singer Lauren Daigle - Still Rolling Stones

Luke 24:1-7
 -------------------------------------------

Hi!

Singer Lauren Daigle has been making a pretty big splash in the Christian music over the last few years.

Wikipedia reports a fairly impressive string of awards and honors she's received since releasing her first album in 2015:

She "was awarded the New Artist of the Year title at the 2015 GMA Dove Awards, with her single "How Can It Be" winning the Song of the Year.

The next year, she went on to win Dove Awards for Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Best Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, with her single "Trust in You."

Daigle's album How Can It Be was nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album; her single "Trust in You" was nominated for a 2017 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song."

-------------------------------------

I posted her first single from 2015, Light of the World, in June of 2017:

https://godsbigshow.blogspot.com/2017/06/lauren-daigle-light-of-world-with-lyrics.html

Today, I'll be sharing a track from her upcoming CD — Look Up Child — scheduled to be out in September of 2018.

You'll find the first single (a "music-only" video) from that album, "Still Rolling Stones" embedded below with lyrics included underneath it.

Hope it Blesses you and points you to our living Savior—Jesus the Messiah—King of kings, and Lord of lords!

John 11:38-44

Still Rolling Stones - Lyrics

Out of the shadows
Bound for the gallows
A dead man walking
'Til love came calling

Rise Up (Rise Up)

Six feet under
I thought it was over
An answer to prayer
The voice of a Savior

Rise Up (Rise Up)

All at once I came alive
This beating heart — These open eyes
The grave let go
The darkness should have known

(You're still rolling—you're still rolling)
You're still rolling stones

Now that you've saved me
I sing 'cause you gave me
A song of revival
I put it on vinyl

Rise Up (Rise Up)

I once was blinded
But now I see it
I heard about the Power
And now I believe it

Rise Up (Rise Up)

All at once I came alive
This beating heart — These open eyes
The grave let go
The darkness should have known

(You're still rolling—you're still rolling)
You're still rolling stones

I thought that I was too far gone
For everything I've done wrong
Yeah, I'm the one who dug this grave
But you called my name
You called my name

Repeats

All at once I came alive
This beating heart — These open eyes
The grave let go
The darkness should have known

(You're still rolling—you're still rolling)
You're still rolling stones

 Repeats
