Painting: Severin Roesen - Still Life with Fruit - 1852 |
Recently, the first lines of the Gospel Song, Give Your Heart A Home, have been going through my mind:
"I hear your hollow laughter,
Your sighs of secret pain...."
(See the complete lyrics below the "music only" video below)
As I think about the world we now live in — with so much noise and confusion raging in it — this beautiful song speaks to our heart's longing for the true Peace only God can provide.
Although it was originally written and performed by Christian musician Don Francisco, who first came on the Gospel music scene in the 1970's—when I listened to his version now, for some reason, I felt like it wasn't the one I wanted to share here.
So I did some searching and found a version of it by Gospel singer Steve Green.
The lyrics to this song are so beautiful — sung from the heart of Jesus — and Green's performance is gentle and moving — but be advised that it is a rip from an old vinyl record — so there are some clicks and pops related to that — but I didn't think it was enough to ruin it.
If you're too young to remember the "joys" of vinyl records — just ask someone older about what listening to music was like before the digital age. : )
Anyway — I hope this song Blesses you and fills your heart's longing as only Jesus' LOVE can do!

Give Your Heart A Home - Lyrics
I hear your hollow laughter,
Your sighs of secret pain,
Pretending and inventing,
Just to hide your shame,
Plastic smiles and faces,
Blinking back the tears,
Empty friends and places,
All magnify your fears,
If you're tired and weary,
Weak and heavy laden,
I can understand how,
It feels to be alone,
I will take your burden,
If you'll let Me love you,
Wrap My arms around you,
Give your heart a home,
It hurts to watch you struggle,
And try so hard to win,
But trade your precious birth rite,
For candy coated sin,
Wasting priceless moments,
Restless and confused,
Building up defenses,
For fear that you'll be used,
Take my yoke upon you,
Walk here by my side,
Let me heal your heartaches,
And dry the tears you've cried,
Never will I leave you,
Never turn away,
Lead you through the darkness,
And guide you through the day,

Thanks so much for stopping by!
May God Richly Bless you!
Jesus is LORD!
Seek Him!

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
