Lamb - Baruch Hashem

Psalm 113:2-4

Hi!

I've published music from Lamb, a pioneering Messianic Jewish band at least twice before on this blog.

6-30-18 — Lamb - Psalm 23
7-31-12 — Lamb - The Sacrifice Lamb

--------------------------------

Messianic Jews believe Jesus is their Lord and Messiah.

--------------------------------

When I was a kid I had a copy of Lamb's album, "Favorites" which featured a selection of their best songs.

Although I was a high mountain kid, born into Anglo-American stock, there was something about Lamb's music I loved (and still do).

Baruch Hashem (Blessed is the Name) was one of the tracks on that album and I listened to it over and over without really knowing exactly what it meant — but something (or rather Some-ONE) spoke to my heart and spirit though it.

Now with the help of Internet I know precisely what they were saying in their lyric (found below).  It is a song of worship and praise to our Lord Jesus — and our Father — the Creator of the Universe!

I pray you will enjoy this track too — and let God fill your life and heart with His Love, Peace, Comfort, Healing, and Joy!

(Read how to be saved below)

Baruch Hashem - Lyrics

The heart of the Jew is Jerusalem
The Messiah his only King
And when in the soul of a Jew He reigns
Peace to the city he brings

Baruch Hashem ha Mashiach, Yeshua *
(Blessed is the Name of the Messiah, Yeshua)

Baruch Hashem, Adonoi! **
(Blessed is the Name of the Lord)

Behold the son of Abraham
Sent by God our people to redeem
When He came forth in Bethlehem
I heard the angels sing

Baruch Hashem ha Mashiach, Yeshua
(Blessed is the Name of the Messiah, Yeshua)

Baruch Hashem, Adonoi!
Blessed is the Name of the Lord)

Bless His name for His name is good
Yeshua ha Mashiach is the name I love
Bless His name for His name is good
Sanctified us by His blood

Now we drink His wine of joy
Filled with the Spirit of Adonoi
United in the love Messiah brings
Now we sing to Elohim (God)

Baruch Hashem ha Mashiach, Yeshua
(Blessed is the Name of the Messiah, Yeshua)

Baruch Hashem, Adonoi!
Blessed is the Name of the Lord)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeshua

Yeshua was a common alternative form of the name in later books of the Hebrew Bible and among Jews of the Second Temple period. The name corresponds to the Greek spelling Iesous, from which, through the Latin Iesus, comes the English spelling Jesus.

The name of God most often used in the Hebrew Bible is the Tetragrammaton (YHWH יהוה‬).

It is frequently anglicized as Jehovah and Yahweh and written in most English editions of the Bible as "the Lord" owing to the Jewish tradition viewing the divine name as increasingly too sacred to be uttered.

It was thus replaced vocally in the synagogue ritual by the Hebrew word Adonai, which was translated as Kyrios (“Lord”) in the Septuagint, the Greek version of the Hebrew scriptures.

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Awesome Video: Young Brazilian Boy Sings Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)!

Hi!

I just saw a truly inspiring video of a young Brazilian boy singing Amazing Grace on YouTube.

The video's description does a fine job of elaborating—so I'll just copy and paste that here without editing it (other than adding paragraphs to make it easier to read):

"Jose Antonio "Jotta A" Viana is a seventh grader, born and brought up in a Pentecostal family. His Dad is a Pastor of a local Assemblies of God church in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Here, he is singing the song of Chris Tomlin's version of Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone).

Jotta is simply talented and most of all anointed. He has turned christian songs into a new breed and heights that are now becoming more and more popular even to the unbelievers. He is really a new singing sensation!

He is 13 years old now.and also a most anointed child Gospel singer in the whole world.  His mispronunciation of some of the English words and the added verses, which were not in the original version, are beautiful additions—make it even more appealing. His Portuguese accent makes it sound even sweeter.

May this Video be an inspiration/ motivation to our kids. Please share this video with your Kids & friends.

Thanks for watching & God Bless You."

PS:  I did a search looking for a video with better image quality...but the sound wasn't as good on those.  : )

Darlene Zschech - Everlasting

Hi!

Sometimes searching for great music to post here results in finding very little that really speaks to my heart and tastes—(keeping in mind that I've already posted 100's of GREAT songs—it's becoming more challenging for sure).

But recently it's like the floodgates have been opened—and everyday I find several more I want to add here.

The other morning I awoke with a melody playing in my head and heart—and it was like I was hearing it with new ears.

I marveled at how beautiful the melody was—and though I couldn't recall the lyrics well—those I did spoke deeply to me.

Today I went searching for the song and fortunately (or was it something else) remembered the singers name: Darlene Zschech.

In short order I found the song too: Everlasting.

I'm not sure why it didn't impact me as strongly when I first heard it—but now I've fallen in love with it.

The lyrics are posted below the "music-only" video embedded here.

I hope it Blesses you as much as it does for me—and that it leads you also to the "Way EVERLASTING!"

Everlasting - Lyrics

Lord, I want to know you more,
Follow you with all my heart and soul,
Lord, I want to know your voice,
Lead me in your way, everlasting,

Show me your ways,
Teach me and guide me in your truth, my Savior,
Confide in me, speak mysteries,
My heart is longing for your touch.
For only you can fill this need in me,

Lord, I want to know you more,
Follow you with all my heart and soul,
Lord, I want to know your voice,
Lead me in your way, everlasting,

You go before me,
Open doors that lead me to Your faithfulness.
Whisper in me, so heavenly,
My heart is longing for your touch,
For only you can fill this need in me,

Age to age,
Everlasting to Everlasting!
Generations will seek Your face!!

Lord, I want to know you more,
Follow you with all my heart and soul,
Lord, I want to know your voice,
Lead me in your way, everlasting,

Lord, I want to know you more,
Follow you with all my heart, my soul,
Lord, I want to know your voice,
Lead me in your way, everlasting,

Everlasting!!!

God's Big Show!

My friend Val uses the phrase "God's Big Show" when writing about our lives as Christians.

It says so much!!

I love the phrase and asked her if I could use it as a blog title and she graciously said yes

Thank you Val!

----------------------------

2-20-2020 Update:

I just discovered that God's Big Show may have also been originally coined by explorer and and author John Muir — who was known as the "Father of the US National Parks."

In a paper, Kelly Boyte Brill shares:

Famed writer, Ralph Waldo Emerson "spent only one day with Muir, and offered him a teaching position at Harvard, which Muir declined.  Muir later wrote, 'I never for a moment thought of giving up God's big show for a mere professorship.'"

Brill continues, "God’s big show, God’s works in nature, became John Muir’s life purpose.  He found God in nature, and wanted other people to have that same experience.

Like music, nature is a portal to the divine. For many people, spending time in nature is the surest, quickest way to feel connected to God."
