Darlene Zschech - Everlasting

Hi!

Sometimes searching for great music to post here results in finding very little that really speaks to my heart and tastes—(keeping in mind that I've already posted 100's of GREAT songs—it's becoming more challenging for sure).

But recently it's like the floodgates have been opened—and everyday I find several more I want to add here.

The other morning I awoke with a melody playing in my head and heart—and it was like I was hearing it with new ears.

I marveled at how beautiful the melody was—and though I couldn't recall the lyrics well—those I did spoke deeply to me.

Today I went searching for the song and fortunately (or was it something else) remembered the singers name: Darlene Zschech.

In short order I found the song too: Everlasting.

I'm not sure why it didn't impact me as strongly when I first heard it—but now I've fallen in love with it.

The lyrics are posted below the "music-only" video embedded here.

I hope it Blesses you as much as it does for me—and that it leads you also to the "Way EVERLASTING!"

Everlasting - Lyrics

Lord, I want to know you more,
Follow you with all my heart and soul,
Lord, I want to know your voice,
Lead me in your way, everlasting,

Show me your ways,
Teach me and guide me in your truth, my Savior,
Confide in me, speak mysteries,
My heart is longing for your touch.
For only you can fill this need in me,

Lord, I want to know you more,
Follow you with all my heart and soul,
Lord, I want to know your voice,
Lead me in your way, everlasting,

You go before me,
Open doors that lead me to Your faithfulness.
Whisper in me, so heavenly,
My heart is longing for your touch,
For only you can fill this need in me,

Age to age,
Everlasting to Everlasting!
Generations will seek Your face!!

Lord, I want to know you more,
Follow you with all my heart and soul,
Lord, I want to know your voice,
Lead me in your way, everlasting,

Lord, I want to know you more,
Follow you with all my heart, my soul,
Lord, I want to know your voice,
Lead me in your way, everlasting,

Everlasting!!!

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Gospel Music: Bryan Duncan - Holy Rollin'!

Hi again!

In my last post I shared some beautiful, meditative hymns from Cynthia Clawson.

This time we'll need to push back all the furniture...cause we're gonna have some church and TESTIFY!!
--------------------

I first heard about Bryan Duncan when he was a member of the Sweet Comfort Band...a 1970's, early 80's Christian band.  I saw them in concert in 1978 or so...and then saw Bryan as a solo act a few years later.

I liked the band...and I liked Bryan...but when I first heard his song and performance of Holy Rollin' when it was released in 1986...the hairs on my neck stood at attention.  I LOVED it.

I read somewhere that someone had said it was like the music played in his church.  I NEED to find a church that plays this kind of music myself.

You'll find the lyrics below the video which is just music only.  So you can tap your toes and nod your head along to the music...or dance like David before the Lord!

Wholly for Jesus!!

Psalm 64:10  - Let the righteous one rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart exult!

Holy Rollin' - Bryan Duncan

I'm gonna celebrate salvation
I'm gonna let this nation know
'Bout a whole new way of livin'
It's called holy rock 'n' roll!

I've gone holy rollin',
Wholly for Jesus 'til I die, yeah
I'm gonna gve my life for Jesus!
I don't mind and I'll tell you why . . . yeah, yeah, yeah

Oh, I won't deny that Jesus in the Savior of my soul.
And He won't deny that my full name is on that Holy Roll!

(So I'm) holy rollin'
Wholly for Jesus 'til I die, yeah.
I'm gonna give my life for Jesus!
I don't mind and I'll tell you why . . . yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Oh, I know the time is comin',
Well, that judgement day is near,
And when I stand before the Lord
I won't have a thing to fear.
Because when I get to Heaven,
They're gonna open Heaven's door,
I'm gonna stand before the Son of God,
We're gonna holy roll some more!

I'm holy rollin',
Wholly for Jesus 'til we die, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
We gone holy rollin',
Wholly for Jesus til we die!
I don't mind, oh!
I'm gonna give my life for Jesus!
I don't mind and I'll tell you why . . . yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Country Gospel Music: Alison Krauss - Jacob's Dream

55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

---------------------

Lyrics below

Jacob's Dream

In the spring of 1856 with the snow still on the ground
Two little boys were lost in the mountains above the town
The father went out hunting the boys had stayed behind
While mother tended to her chores they wandered from her side

The two had gone to follow him and lost their way instead
By dusk the boys had not been found and fear had turned to dread
200 men had gathered there to comb the mountain side
The fires were built on the highest peak in hopes they'd see the light

William-Adolphe Bouguereau
Song of the Angels (1881)

Oh mommy and daddy why can't you hear our cries
The day is almost over, soon it will be night
We're so cold and hungry and our feet are tired and sore
We promise not to stray again from our cabin door

Now Jacob Dibert woke one night from a strange and erie dream
He saw a path between two hills near a dark and swollen stream
He told his wife he saw the boys huddled close beside a log
For two more nights the dream returned this vision sent from God

Oh mommy and daddy why can't you hear our cries
The day is almost over, soon it will be night
We're so cold and hungry and our feet are tired and sore
We promise not to stray again from our cabin door

a thousand men had searched in vain the west side of Bob's creek
But Jacob's wife knew of this place and said to travel east
With a guide to take him there, Jacob came upon the scene
And found the boys cold and still beneath the old birch tree

Oh mommy and daddy, look past the tears you cry
We're both up in Heaven now, God is by our side
As you lay us down to rest in the presence of the Lord
Know that we will meet you here at Heaven's door

Oh mommy and daddy, look past the tears you cry
We're both up in Heaven now, God is by our side
And as you lay us down to rest in the presence of the Lord
Know that we will meet you here at Heaven's door
