Peaceful Praise: The Heavens Declare - Scott Brenner

Music video embedded below commentary

John 16:33 [Jesus said] Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
 -----------------------------

Hi!

There's a nice rain in the Phoenix area this morning — the first we've had in over 100 days — and so it's been an enjoyable start to my day!

--------------------------

As we come to the end of yet another year, I hope you've been Blessed and surrounded by the Love of God and family and friends.

Someone shared the scripture from John 16:33 on twitter recently — as seen in the image above — and it made an impact on me and rang in my spirit.

So if, like me, your year has been filled with both good and bad, we must always remember that this life is brief in comparison with the lives that await us — for those who believe in Jesus as Messiah and Lord — who are granted to spend eternity in His presence through faith in Him.

Revelation 21:1-4

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “

“Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

----------------------

Recently I heard an amazing song by an artist I'd never come across before.

"The Heaven's Declare", by Scott Brenner, is a very atmospheric and peaceful worship song — and uses the words from Psalm 19:1-6.

It's a beautiful passage that reminds that God's creation points directly back to Him.

I hope you will feel Blessed by this beautiful music!

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God, Psalm 19:1-6 (NKJV)

The heavens declare the glory of God
And the firmament shows His handiwork

Day unto day utters speech
And night unto night reveals knowledge

There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard
Their line has gone out through all the earth
And their words to the end of the world

In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun
Which is like a bridegroom coming out of His chamber
And rejoices like a strong man to run its race

Its rising is from one end of heaven
And its circuit to the other end
And there is nothing hidden from its heat
The heavens declare the glory of God

Hi!

My search for great Christian / Gospel Music goes on.

Thankfully of late it seems like I've been finding a lot of really beautiful music to post here.

I much prefer Christian Music that is praise and worship and speaks of God's wonderful nature — and Big Daddy Weave certainly nails that with their song Overwhelmed.

You'll find a video of it below with just lyrics you can follow along to — or if you'd prefer I included them under the video as well.

It's a beautiful praise song and I pray it will Bless you and speak to your heart about God's magnificence and Love!

"Overwhelmed"

I see the work of Your Hands,
Galaxies spin in a Heavenly dance,
Oh, God, All that You are is so overwhelming!

I hear the sound of Your Voice,
All at once it's a gentle and thundering noise,
Oh, God, All that You are is so overwhelming!

I delight myself in You,
Captivated by Your beauty,
I'm overwhelmed,
I'm overwhelmed by You!

God, I run into Your arms,
Unashamed because of mercy,
I'm overwhelmed,
I'm overwhelmed by You!

I know the power of Your Cross,
Forgiven and free forever — You'll be my God,
And all that You've done is so overwhelming!

I delight myself in You,
In the Glory of Your Presence,
I'm overwhelmed,
I'm overwhelmed by You!

God, I run into Your arms,
Unashamed because of mercy,
I'm overwhelmed,
I'm overwhelmed by You!

You are Beautiful,
You are Beautiful,
Oh God, there is no one more Beautiful!

You are Beautiful, God you are the most Beautiful

You are Wonderful, You are Wonderful,
Oh, God, There is no one more Wonderful!
You are Wonderful,
God You are the most Wonderful!

You are Glorious, You are Glorious,
Oh, God, There is no one more Glorious!

You are Glorious, God you are the most Glorious!

I delight myself in you,
In the Glory of your Presence,
I'm overwhelmed,
I'm overwhelmed by you!

God, I run into your arms,
Unashamed because of mercy,
I'm overwhelmed,
I'm overwhelmed by you!

I'm overwhelmed,
I'm overwhelmed by you!

There is no one more beautiful!

God, you are the most beautiful!

Praise Music: I Will Worship You - Matthew Ward

Hebrews 12:28-29

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe....

-------------------------------------

Hi!

Back in the 70's, Matthew Ward sang with his sisters in the pioneering Christian pop-rock band the 2nd Chapter of Acts.

http://www.2ndchapterofacts.com/AboutUs.html

Matthew has a unique and powerful voice — and he could've had a successful career as a worldly pop or rock artist if he had chosen to — but he decided instead to spend his life using his talent for God.

I Will Worship You - is a praise song from his 2000 CD Even Now — which features a number of praise and worship songs that can be sampled and purchased on Amazon:

The video is very simple - just the lyrics over a black background — but I hope this song will Bless you!

Hello!

I listened to "Revelation Song" by Phillips,Craig And Dean recently...and think it is beautiful.

The video someone did to accompany it is pretty moving too!

Hope you will feel the same way!

"Revelation Song"

Worthy is the
Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to Him who sits on
Heaven's Mercy Seat
[Repeat]

Chorus:

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and
Glory and power be
To You the Only Wise King

[Chorus]

Holy, Holy,
You are Holy

Filled with wonder
Awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your Name
Jesus, Your Name is Power
Breath, and Living Water
Such a marvelous mystery

[Chorus]

Christian Praise Music: Sing Your Praise To The Lord - Amy Grant

Hi!

I had the most amazing dream the other day.  It was a long epic...and I was going from place to place and surrounded by various people.

At one point I was at some kind of Christian retreat...and I entered a room where  with a few people in it...and older woman was playing piano and singing...doing both beautifully and skillfully.

She was playing some great gospel song...it was so upbeat and happy...kinda a southern gospel boogie...and she was praising God!

Although I don't remember what song it was now...in the dream I joined in and sang with all my being.

Soon a man took a microphone and said, "Some of you are already in the Spirit....", and encouraged others to join in.

I realized then how happy and at peace I was.

I wish more Christian music was like that!!

Let Everything that has breath Praise the Lord - Psalm 150:6 - Photo: Jephyr

Back to the real world:  That kind of music has been going through my head...and the other day the melody and lyrics from Amy Grant's "Sing Your Praise To The Lord" was going through my mind.

Interesting...because I hadn't heard it in MANY years!

It's such a happy, joyful song...praising God.

If you haven't heard it I hope you'll check out the video below...or if you have...maybe it's time to refresh your memory...and YOUR spirit.

The video is "music only", so I've added the lyrics below the video...so you can join in if you want to.

(There's an approximately 1 minute 10 second piano instrumental intro before the vocals start)

[Chorus:]
Sing your praise to the Lord
Come on everybody
Stand up and sing one more Hallelujah
Give your praise to the Lord
I can never tell you
Just how much good that it's
Gonna do you...just to

[Chorus]

Sing anew
The song your heart learned to sing
When He first gave His life to you
The life goes on and so must the song
You gotta sing again
The song born in your soul
When you first gave your heart to Him
Sing His praises once more

[Chorus]

Sing aloud
The song that someone is dying to hear,
Down in the madd'ning crowd
As you once were before you heard the song
You gotta let them know
The truth is alive to shine upon the way
So maybe they can go
Sing your praises once more

[Chorus]

Let the name of the Lord be praised,
Both for now and evermore,
Praise him, oh, you servants
Give your

[Chorus]

Sing, sing sing
Come on
Sing, sing, sing,
I can hear you now
Sing, sing, sing

Beautiful Christian Music: Thy Word - Maranatha Singers

Photo:  By Phil Greig - Royalty Free Christian Images
http://freelyphotos.com/candles/

Hi!

In 1984, Amy Grant popularized a song called "Thy Word".

Written by her and Christian singer-songwriter Michael W Smith,  it was a simple but beautiful song whose theme was taken from Psalm 119:105 (as see above).

You can read more about the songs creation here:  http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=16213

---------------------

In the last few days, I discovered another version of it on YouTube (embedded below), recorded by the Maranatha Singers on their 2011 "Praise 9 - Great Are You Lord" CD.

You can find a download version of the entire CD here:

The lyrics are in the video...so if you're inclined...feel free to sing along!  : )

Messianic Christian Music: Ted Pearce - Bless The Name Yeshua (Jesus)

"In English, the name Yeshua is extensively used by followers of Messianic Judaism" as a name for Jesus Christ the Messiah.

Hello!

Recently I came across this beautiful song, Bless The Name Of Yeshu, by Ted Pearce.

According to his website, http://www.tedpearce.com:

"Ted Pearce grew up in a Vidor, TX, a city known for racism in the 60s & 70s. There he began his professional career as a singer at the age of 15, and at the same age became an atheist.

But in summer of 1989, Ted the atheist began reading the bible to prove it was wrong, and everything was about to change...

In January of 1990 he made a decision to trust in Yeshua (Jesus) and began attending a messianic Jewish congregation.

In the late 90s, he formed and recorded with two Christian rock bands."

His website says that he has been active in Messianic Christian music through the years following that...and has also collaborated with Joel Chernoff from the messianic Christian music pioneer group "Lamb", and co-wrote the theme song for the new ministry of Promise Keepers founder, Coach Bill McCartney.

-------------------------

Check out the video of Ted Pearce and Bless The Name Of Yeshua...and let it minister to you!

(Lyrics below)

53 Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men,A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment,
And who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
9 And they[a] made His grave with the wicked—
But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul,[b] and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death,
And He was numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And made intercession for the transgressors.

Bless The Name Yeshua - Ted Pearce - Lyrics

We worship you, O Lord,
For You alone are worthy,
To receive all honor and praise,
You are highly exalted,
Lord God Almighty,
Sing out, O heaven and earth,

Chorus:

Hallelujah, Bless the name Yeshua,
For He is the name above all names,
Hallelujah, Bless the name Yeshua,
Messiah gave His life in my place,

We thank you, O Father,
For sending Your Son,
Who gave Himself a ransom for our sin,

Perfect atonement,
A spotless peace offering,
You have given us a way to You through Him,

(Chorus)

Baruch Atah,

O, Zion awaits,
The day of Your returning,
Come to us Immanuel!

(Chorus)

Live Christian Music Video: Shout To The Lord! Oslo Gospel Choir

Hi!

This morning I had the words of the song "Shout To The Lord" going through my mind and I set out to find a good version to post here.

After some time of searching I finally found this beautiful Live version by the Oslo Gospel Choir.

The lyrics are shown in the video and have also been added at the bottom of this post.

Psalms 66:1-4

Shout for joy to God, all the earth!
2         Sing the glory of his name;
    make his praise glorious.
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
    So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth bows down to you;
    they sing praise to you,
they sing the praises of your name.”

Shout To The Lord - Lyrics

My Jesus, my Savior
Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty Love

My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord
All the Earth, let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name

I sing for joy at the work
Of Your hands
Forever I'll love You
Forever I'll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You

My Jesus, my Savior

All of my days
I want to praise
The wonders of your mighty love

My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breathe, all that I am
never cease to worship You

Christian Worship Music: In Christ Alone

Antonio Ciseri's - Pontius Pilate presenting
a scourged Christ to the people - 1871

Worship song In Christ Alone has a timeless feel to it.  Enough so that some may wonder if it is an old Church Hymn.

But according to an article about it on Crosswalk.com the song was written in 2002 by Stuart Townend and Keith Getty.

It says there "that Townend and Getty both admit they are motivated by the idea of capturing biblical truth in songs and hymns that will not only cause people to express their worship in church, but will build them up in their Christian lives."

This version of the song is sung by Adrienne Liesching & Geoff Moore, and is set to scenes from The Passion Of The Christ.

Listen to the words and let it's message encourage and Bless you!

1 Corinthians 3:11

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Christian Music Video: Mercy Me - All Of Creation

Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights above.
Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.
Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.

Isaiah's Lips Anointed
With Fire - Benjamin West (1738–1820)
Public Domain
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for at his command they were created,
and he established them for ever and ever—
he issued a decree that will never pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
stormy winds that do his bidding,
you mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars,
10 wild animals and all cattle,
    small creatures and flying birds,
11 kings of the earth and all nations,
you princes and all rulers on earth,
12 young men and women,
    old men and children.

13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for his name alone is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
14 And he has raised up for his people a horn,
the praise of all his faithful servants,
of Israel, the people close to his heart.

Praise the Lord.

Hillsong - Hosanna

Worship Music

Christian Music Video:  Hillsong - Hosanna

I see the King of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes, the whole earth shakes

I see His love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing, the people sing

Walking on Water - Ivan Aivazovsky (1817–1900)

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest

I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith, with selfless faith

I see a new revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees, we're on our knees

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like
You have loved me

Break my heart for what breaks Yours
Everything I am for Your Kingdom's cause
As I walk from earth into eternity

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest

Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna in the highest

Matthew 21: 1-16

English Standard Version (ESV)

The Triumphal Entry

21  Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying,

“Say to the daughter of Zion,
‘Behold, your king is coming to you,
humble, and mounted on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”

The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them. Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” 10 And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” 11 And the crowds said, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

12  And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 13 He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.”
14  And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. 15  But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant, 16 and they said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read,

“‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies
    you have prepared praise’?”
