JJ Heller - Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)

Recently, I heard JJ Heller's Star of Wonder (We Three Kings) — and instantly fell in love with with her soft and gentle performance and knew immediately I wanted to post it here as the first Christmas song of this 2019 Season.

Whether you celebrate the 25th as our Savior's birth or not — allow God to pour his abundant Mercy, Love, Healing, and Blessings into your heart and life through her music — and remind you of our Wonderful Messiah and King — Yeshua — Jesus the Christ!!

Matthew 2:1-2
Painting: James Tissot: The Magi Journeying (1890), Brooklyn Museum, New York City

Find more of this chapter (Matthew 2:1-12) below — and its description of the wise men's journey to worship and honor the new born Savior and King.

Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)  - Lyrics

There were kings of the orient
Bringing gifts to the Child
Through the fields and deserts they came
Messiah was worth every mile

Star of wonder, star of light
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

Gold and frankincense, myrrh the perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom
Sorrow, sighing, bleeding and dying
Sealed in the stone cold tomb

Star of wonder, star of light
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

Glorious now behold Him arise!
King and God and Sacrifice
Hallelujah, Hallelu
Sounds through the earth and the skies

Star of wonder, star of light
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

Through the fields and deserts they came
Messiah was worth every mile!!

   Romans 10:9-10

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

If you've made this decision—believed it in your heart and confessed it with your mouth—let God speak to you by reading the Bible—and seek out fellowship with others who also believe.

Pour out your heart to God in Prayer (simply speaking to Him in reverence)—asking Him to reveal Himself to you and to provide for your needs.

Life in Jesus is the best decision you will ever make.

God Bless You!

Psalm 16:11

 ---------------------------------------

Oh How Good It Is - Lyrics

Oh how good it is
To be in the presence of the Lord
My soul rejoices
Being in the presence of the King
So refreshing
Such a blessing
There's no place I'd rather be
Than in the presence of the King

Oh how good it is
To be in the presence of the Lord
My soul rejoices
In the presence of the King
So refreshing
(And to me it's such a blessing)
So refreshing
There's no place I'd rather be
Than in the presence of the King
Hallelujah

Makes me wanna sing
Makes me wanna shout
Makes me wanna holler

Throw up my hands

(God I will bless your name)

Gotta do my best
Gotta lift my voice
Gotta clap my hands
(We bless You Jesus)
Gotta clap my hands
(Gotta give You praise)

Makes me wanna sing
Makes me wanna shout
Makes me wanna holler
(I love being in Your presence Jesus)

Throw up my hands

Keith & Kristyn Getty w/ Phil Keaggy - My Dwelling Place (Based on Psalm 91)

Hello,

I just found and fell in love with the song/video you'll find below.

Recorded live at Nashville's Sing! conference 2018—it features Keith & Kristyn Getty's song, My Dwelling Place (based on Psalm 91).

Vocalist/songwriter Kristyn leads the musicians and congregation through this beautiful song—which also features Christian "rock" pioneer Phil Keaggy on guitar—and a lovely violin solo (by an unnamed and very pregnant woman : )

I pray this song will Bless you and that the Holy Spirit will fill your heart and mind with the Love, Peace, and abundant Grace and Mercy found only through the King of kings and Lord of lords—Jesus the Christ and Messiah!

My Dwelling Place (Psalm 91) - Lyrics

My dwelling place is God Most High
My refuge and my fortress
When plague and pestilence draw nigh
I’m hidden in His Presence
When terrors fall and arrows fly
His shield will be my safety
When stones across my pathway lie
On angels’ wings I’m carried

My dwelling place is God Most High
A present help in danger
I rest secure in love’s pure light
Beneath my Master’s favor
He freed me from the fowler’s snare
Where sin and shame had bound me
Deceived I’d made my refuge there
Till fearless He came for me

Wonderful, powerful
My hope and my defender
Mighty God, Emmanuel
My dwelling place forever

My dwelling place is God Most High
I’ll never seek another
For I am His and He is mine
My heart He’ll keep forever
I know the Name on Whom I call
He promises to answer
With life He satisfies my soul
And crowns me with His pleasure

Wonderful, powerful
My hope and my defender
Mighty God, Emmanuel
My dwelling place FOREVER!

We Are Messengers - Magnify - Music Video

Hello brothers and sisters,

Hope you are feeling Blessed today as you cling to the Lord of all—Jesus the Messiah!

Back in January of 2016, the Irish based band We Are Messengers posted a video for their song Magnify on their YouTube channel and you'll find that embedded below.

The song lyrics speak to the sometimes perplexing journey we, as Christians, find ourselves on—and our Lord's loving guidance through it all—as we keep our hearts and minds on Him.

Magnify - Lyrics

I've been trying to make sense of the sorrow that I feel
Holding on for life to the only thing that's real
I've only scratched the surface
I've barely had a taste

But just a glimpse draws my heart to change
And one sight of you lays my sin to waste
I don't need to see everything
Just more of you

Take it all, take it all away
Magnify no other name
Open up, open up my eyes
To you

Take it all, take it all away
Magnify no other name
Open up, open up my eyes
To you

My sight is incomplete and I've made you look small
I've been staring at my problems for way too long
Re-align where my hope is set, until you're all that's left

But just a glimpse draws my heart to change
And one sight of you lays my sin to waste
I don't need to see everything just more of you

Take it all, take it all away
Magnify no other name
Open up, open up my eyes
To you

Take it all, take it all away
Magnify no other name
Open up, open up my eyes
To you

God be greater, than the worries in my life
Be stronger, than the weakness in my mind
Be louder, let your Glory come alive
Be magnified!

God be greater, than the worries in my life
Be stronger, than the weakness in my mind
Be louder, let your Glory come alive
Be magnified

Take it all, take it all away
Magnify no other name
Open up, open up my eyes
To you, to you

Take it all, take it all away
Magnify no other name
Open up, open up my eyes
To you, to you

Natalie Grant - Held

Hello brothers and sisters!

I was going through old drafts for this blog—and WAY back at nearly the beginning of it I had started one about this song—Held—from Natalie Grant.

I'm not exactly sure why I didn't post it way back when but when I listened to it again I found it very moving—and this morning when I woke up I had it going through my mind—and felt that it was at long last time to share it here.

I'm always interested in the back-story for songs and found this website entry about the song:

https://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/lyrics/new/track.asp?track_id=4067

"'Held' is written by a friend of Natalie's, her name is Christa Wells [who related]:

'A few years ago, I was suddenly confronted by three stories of tragic loss: two close friends shared with me the pain of losing a husband and an infant son, respectively, and my mother-in-law shared the heart-wrenching experience of delivering a stillborn baby girl. The faith of these women and their families deeply affected me, and I was struck by one thing they all seemed to be saying: God never promised we'd be exempt from heartache. In fact, He said we would suffer greatly here on earth. But God promises this: He will never leave us. In our most painful moments, we will in fact be 'held' - and find our comfort there. This song was written from the testimonies of these women and intended as a gift to their families; it's been beautiful and amazing to see it reach so many others.' - Christa Wells (author of 'Held'"

No matter what trials you are facing in your life—as you listen to this beautiful song—please allow God to speak His Truth, Healing, and Love into your heart and life!

Held - Lyrics

Two months is too little
They let him go
They had no sudden healing

To think that providence would take a child from his mother
While she prays, is appalling

Who told us we'd be rescued
What has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares

We're asking why this happens to us
Who have died to live, it's unfair

This is what it means to be held
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive

This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was when everything fell
We'd be held

This hand is bitterness
We want to taste it and let the hatred numb our sorrows

The wise hand opens slowly
To lilies of the valley and tomorrow

This is what it means to be held
How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive

This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was when everything fell
We'd be held

If hope if born of suffering
If this is only the beginning
Can we not wait for one hour
Watching for our Savior

This is what it means to be held
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive

This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was when everything fell
We'd be held
