He Is Exalted — I Exalt Thee (Medley) — Sounds Like Reign

Video Below:  He Is Exalted — I Exalt Thee (Medley) — Sounds Like Reign

Recently, YouTube has been recommending Sounds Like Reign — a lovely channel from a family who posts videos of their Christian music and snippets about their lives.

Screen Capture From The Video Below

In their video below — the parents are joined by their 5 boys — as they each take different vocal parts and verses (while their adorable wee one is content to just be held in momma's arms).

It's quite beautiful to see this young family praising the Lord and sharing their gifts and faith with the world through their videos.

I pray their music will Bless you and fill your your heart to overflowing with the Goodness, Peace, Comfort, Blessing, and Saving Grace of our Savior — Jesus Christ the Messiah — the King of kings and Lord of lords!

Beautiful -  Lyrics

Days will come when you don't have the strength
When all you hear is you're not worth anything
Wondering if you ever could be loved
And if they truly saw your heart they'd see too much

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are made for so much more than all of this
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are treasured, you are sacred, you are His
You're beautiful

And praying that you have the heart to fight
Cause you are more than what is hurting you tonight
For all the lies you've held inside so long
And they are nothing in the shadow of the cross

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are made for so much more than all of this
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are treasured, you are sacred, you are His
You're beautiful

Before you ever took a breath
Long before the world began
Of all the wonders He possessed
There was one more precious
Of all the earth and skies above
You're the one He madly loves
Enough to die

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
In His eyes

You're beautiful
You were meant for so much more than all of this
You're beautiful
You are treasured, you are sacred, you are His
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You're meant for so much more than all of this
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are treasured, you are sacred, you are His

Freedom - Josh Garrels - Live!

Today's music is AWESOME!

Recorded live during a 2015 acoustic concert in Houston with Josh Garrels—the video features his song Freedom.

The lyrics are DEEP and challenging to say the least—and to my ears the song isn't easily categorized—except to say it has a unique, fresh sound.

But I definitely love the Truth Garrels expresses—pointing to the futility of searching for meaning in life without God—and then the Blessings (and TRUE Freedom) of knowing Jesus as Lord!

2 Peter 3:9

Freedom - Lyrics

Mhmm...
(vocal improvisation continues)

Professional or beginner doesn't matter
Every sinner is a prisoner in a body that is subject to time
Now my entwined mind tries to form a straight line
Not like twisted scoliosis of the spinal chord

Construct
Cross-eyed carpenters are cuttin' crooked lines
Can't construct
Man-made shrines when the winds and the water move the sands of time

Many minds on a deadline
Yet live life like a live wire
I'm not tired!
Of blood and fire
Spirit's moving higher than the green grass ever lifted me

Spirit's moving higher...
Than anything else ever lifted you
See

We got spirituality
It's living in us like one in three
Injustice is concerning me
In the non-linear eternity

I'm speaking paradoxically
But you can nod your head now when you understand me

This is for my free men
Whose backs wont bend in the lions den
Now with their eyes on the ending

This is for my free women!
They fight with their love
The bearers of our children

Free men whose backs wont bend in the lions den
Now with their eyes on the ending

This is for my free women
They fight with their love
The bearers of our children

We shine like lights exposing
What lies underneath decomposing
Unearth those chains that are rusted
Oh! My, God! Is that what I trusted in?

That sin? That tomfoolery? Ugh!
What it is is mental jewelry that I adorned myself with

The enemy's gifts, the man-made myths, the ignorant bliss
Of marijuana spliffs and alcoholic fifths
I got so sick and tired of it

Delivered and redeemed
By Christ I mean
It's time to start livin'
And get a reason for the rhymes

I don't wanna be dead-wrong on the deadline
Standing on the dark side and all out of time...
Like a blind pantomime's fantasize
Climb up his own ladder to the sunshine

Nothin's mine
That hasn't been given
No one's alive here
That hasn't been risen
For 19 years I was trapped in a prison

Feeding my escape by means of derision
But every man-made attempt just failed
When trapped in a jail
Of my own guilt, shame, and iniquity

I was looking for freedom
How'd I find freedom?
From all of this?

He said believe!
He said believe!
Who are you telling me to believe......

He said I'm the Christ!
So I believed!

Freedom!

Mhmm...
(vocal improvisation continues to end)

Callie Day Takes EVERYONE To CHURCH - America's Got Talent 2019

Hi brothers and sisters,

Last night I happened to catch Gospel Singer Callie Day performing Up To The Mountain on America's Got Talent 2019—and have shared a video of that below along with lyrics underneath it.

The video is cued to begin right before she starts singing at about 1:52—but you can use your player's controls if you want a look at some of her history and background that's shared in her introduction.

I LOVE her performance—and her sweet spirit and bold yet humble testimony for Jesus comes shining through.

It's wonderful to see even the "celebrity" judges—who sometimes seem a little jaded and cold—moved by her lovely voice and message.

I pray this video will Bless you and lead you to the Lord of Love and Light—Jesus the Messiah and Savior—the King of kings and Lord of lords!

Up To The Mountain - Written by Patty Griffin - Lyrics
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Up_to_the_Mountain_(MLK_Song)

I went up to the mountain
Up over the clouds
And though the clouds are blue
I can wait no more

You see sometimes I lay down
No more can I do
See sometimes I look down
But I’m afraid I’ll fall

And though the sun is still shines
I have nothing, nothing at all

But then I hear your sweet, sweet voice
Oh, come and go,
Telling me softly
You love me so

Messianic Jewish Praise: Lamb - Jerusalem Descending

Hello Brothers and Sisters!

Today we're going to get in the "way-back machine."

: )

As I've written about before on this blog—in the 1970's the Messianic Jewish band, Lamb was making a big impact on Christian music.

Their songs combined the acoustic rock of that era—seasoned with a pinch of a traditional Jewish sound and feel.

Below you'll find a music-only video of their song from that time, Jerusalem Descending—which speaks to the hearts of Messianic Jews and Christians and our longing for our eternal home—and our love for the Messiah of all—Jesus the Christ—the Lord of lords and the King of kings!

You'll find the Lyrics under the video.

Jerusalem Descending - Lyrics

Yerushalayim (Hebrew: Jerusalem) descending
The city from the sky
Abraham’s dream
And the answer to my cry

For those who love Messiah
A Kingdom is prepared
The citizens are holy
And there’s no weeping there

No more songs of sorrow
No more tails of woe
The pain of all the ages
We shall no longer know

Yerushalayim chadash (Hebrew: New Jerusalem)
All things are made new
As the glory of Yeshua (Hebrew: Jesus) is coming into view

Instrumental Break

For those who love Messiah
A Kingdom is prepared
The citizens are holy
And there’s no weeping there

No more songs of sorrow
No more tails of woe
The pain of all the ages
We shall no longer know

All things are made new
As the glory of Yeshua  is coming into view

As the glory of Yeshua is coming into view

Fred Hammond - I Will Trust

Psalm 9:10 - Painting: Charles Bosseron Chambers - 1882–1964

Hi!

Happy New Year 2019!

I hope you had a wunnerful Holiday Season and will have a Blessed year walking and growing with Jesus as Lord!

----------------------

Recently, I happened to catch the beginning of a music video on a local Christian TV station.

It was clear from the start that the vocals, and the track and song were amazing!

The song started out gentle and soft and built up nicely to a powerful chorus with full-throated vocals—and the lyrics spoke of placing complete trust in God.

I knew immediately I wanted to share it here—so I did a quick search based on the lyrics and discovered it is I Will Trust by Fred Hammond.

You'll find a "music-only" video of it below—followed by the lyrics.

I hope you'll give this awesome track a spin—and let it speak into your life Gods' Mercy, Blessings, Healing and Love!

I Will Trust - Lyrics

There was a time I truly believed
That I could do it on my own
But all that I found at the end of that road
Is that concept for me was all wrong

I found a Savior who turned me around
And he placed his love on me
And I will trust in Him
Till my last heart beat

Some put their trust in earthly possessions
But in the end
It won't bring them through

I will not lean to my own understanding
But with my whole heart
Here's what I'll do

I will trust
(Trust in the name of The Lord)
In the name
(Trust in the name of The Lord)
Of The Lord
(Lord I will)
Lord I'll trust in You

I will trust
(Trust in the name of The Lord)
In the name
(Trust in the name of The Lord)
Of The Lord
(For I know)
He will see me through

The name of The Lord is a mighty strong tower
The righteous run in and they're safe
I will trust you

I will trust
(Trust in the name of The Lord)
In the name
(Trust in the name of The Lord)
Of The Lord
(Lord I will)
Lord I'll trust in You

I will trust
(Trust in the name of The Lord)
In the name
(Trust in the name of The Lord)
Of The Lord
(For I know)
He will see me through

O Holy Night - Celtic Woman

Matthew 1:18-25 - Painting:  "The Adoration Of The
Shepherds" - Gerard Van Honthorst - 1622
Hi!

Christmas 2018—when many Christians the world over celebrate the birth of Jesus the Messiah—is rapidly approaching.

As mentioned in a recent post—I've been looking for appropriate Christmas music to share with you—and just found this lovely version of O Holy Night by the Irish group Celtic Woman.

According to their website, Celtic Woman has been performing since 1996 and is based in Dublin, the capitol of Ireland.  They've released a number of concert videos and albums with songs often reflecting Christian themes.

Today's video features their beautiful live performance of O Holy Night—inter-cut with related images and video illuminating the song.

I pray their version of O Holy Night will Bless you—and fill your heart to over-flowing with the the Love,Comfort, and Healing of Jesus the Christ during this holiday season and forever more!!

Lyrics are under the video

 O Holy Night - Lyrics

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother
And in his name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name

Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
Noel *, Noel, O night, O night divine,

Noel, Noel, O night, O night divine,

"Can't Nobody" another GREAT Gospel song that's been in my drafts for quite a while now.

Today I was looking though those older posts-a-waiting and gave this another listen with fresh ears — and WOW do I love it!

Found on Bobby Jones' The Ambassador CD — This great Gospel song is sung by Bobby Jones along with Karen Clark Sheard — and was included on the CD Gotta Have Gospel! 6.

Please give this awesome track a spin — and let it speak to your heart about our Lord Jesus' Goodness, Mercy and Love!

Lyrics below

Psalm 121:1-2

Can't Nobody — Lyrics

Can't Nobody
Can't Nobody
Thank you, Lord

The way you love me
The way you keep on keeping me, Jesus
Can't nobody do me like you do

The way you wrap me in your arms and hold me
Jesus
Can't nobody do me like you do

It's a mystery to me
Why you love me the way you do
So long suffering
Even when I'm lost and confused

Never known any love that's quite like this
That's able to keep me from falling
And present me ***
The way

The way you love me
The way you keep on keeping me, Jesus
Can't nobody do me like you do

The way you wrap me in your arms and hold me
Jesus
Can't nobody do me like you do

Can't nobody
Can't nobody

Let's get ready to lift him up
Yeah
Right there — Right there
Can't nobody do me like you — Yeah

Lord before I came to know you
I had my head hanging low
Burdened down so heavy
'Til you eased my troubled soul

Now I'm moving in a new direction
By your Grace, Your Mercy — And by your Protection

You keep me from danger
 ****
And when trouble rises
You are right there to deliver me

I want to thank you
And give you the praise
For Lovin' me the way You do

The way you love me
The way you keep on keeping me, Jesus
Can't nobody do me like you do

The way you wrap me in your arms and hold me
Jesus
Can't nobody do me like you do

Go ahead now

Nobody

Gospel Reggae— DaJourney - Break Every Chain

John 14: 6

Hi!

Hope you are feeling Blessed!

Today you'll find a "music-only" video from DaJouney and his Gospel Reggae version of Break Every Chain.

This beautiful song was written by Will Reagan and first performed by United Church Band.

https://www.allmusic.com/artist/will-reagan-mn0003025339/biography

But it has clearly struck a chord with Christians around the world — and many others have performed and/or recorded it — including Tasha Cobbs and Jesus Culture.

While sorting through the many versions — I found one by DaJourney who puts a Reggae Gospel vibe to it — and LOVE what he did with it.

The lyrics are beautiful in any version — but DJourney adds some unique verses to his recording.

Hope you'll agree — and let our Lord Jesus pour His love and Comfort out on your heart and spirit as you listen!

Lyrics below

Break Every Chain - Lyrics

Hallelujah!
Does anybody believe there's power in the name of Jesus?

Troubled waters all around me — I won't fear
(I won't fear)
Lord, You promise where I am that You'll be there
(You'll be there)
My burdens pressing in — My heart is in despair
(In despair)
So many things are preventing me from calling Your name

I know my head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
Some say I'm crazy
And I'm out of my mind

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)
There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)
There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain —
Every chain is broken — Yeah
Break every chain
Oh — Yeah —

You gave Your all for me
I give my all to You
Love Your Kindness and Mercy
You're my drink when I am thirsty

You gave Your all for me
I'll give my all to You
Love Your Kindness and Mercy
You're my drink when I am thirsty — yeah....

I know my head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
Some say I'm crazy —
And I'm out of my mind

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
To break every chain
To break every chain

There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)
There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)
There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)

To break every chain
To break every chain
Break every chain

I hear the chains broken
I hear the chains falling
I hear the chains broken
I hear the chains falling!

Christian Singer Lauren Daigle - Still Rolling Stones

Luke 24:1-7
 -------------------------------------------

Hi!

Singer Lauren Daigle has been making a pretty big splash in the Christian music over the last few years.

Wikipedia reports a fairly impressive string of awards and honors she's received since releasing her first album in 2015:

She "was awarded the New Artist of the Year title at the 2015 GMA Dove Awards, with her single "How Can It Be" winning the Song of the Year.

The next year, she went on to win Dove Awards for Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Best Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, with her single "Trust in You."

Daigle's album How Can It Be was nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album; her single "Trust in You" was nominated for a 2017 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song."

-------------------------------------

I posted her first single from 2015, Light of the World, in June of 2017:

https://godsbigshow.blogspot.com/2017/06/lauren-daigle-light-of-world-with-lyrics.html

Today, I'll be sharing a track from her upcoming CD — Look Up Child — scheduled to be out in September of 2018.

You'll find the first single (a "music-only" video) from that album, "Still Rolling Stones" embedded below with lyrics included underneath it.

Hope it Blesses you and points you to our living Savior—Jesus the Messiah—King of kings, and Lord of lords!

John 11:38-44

Still Rolling Stones - Lyrics

Out of the shadows
Bound for the gallows
A dead man walking
'Til love came calling

Rise Up (Rise Up)

Six feet under
I thought it was over
An answer to prayer
The voice of a Savior

Rise Up (Rise Up)

All at once I came alive
This beating heart — These open eyes
The grave let go
The darkness should have known

(You're still rolling—you're still rolling)
You're still rolling stones

Now that you've saved me
I sing 'cause you gave me
A song of revival
I put it on vinyl

Rise Up (Rise Up)

I once was blinded
But now I see it
I heard about the Power
And now I believe it

Rise Up (Rise Up)

All at once I came alive
This beating heart — These open eyes
The grave let go
The darkness should have known

(You're still rolling—you're still rolling)
You're still rolling stones

I thought that I was too far gone
For everything I've done wrong
Yeah, I'm the one who dug this grave
But you called my name
You called my name

Repeats

All at once I came alive
This beating heart — These open eyes
The grave let go
The darkness should have known

(You're still rolling—you're still rolling)
You're still rolling stones

 Repeats

Romans 10:9-10

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Rev. Elijah Baker, Sr. - I Never Had It So Good

Music Only Video Embedded Below

Welcome!

I posted here in August of 2017 about a radio program here in Phoenix, Arizona:

Ms D Soul Hour of Power Gospel Show simulcast on KXEG 1280 AM & 96.1FM.

I haven't had a chance to listen much since then but earlier this morning happened upon a YouTube upload of a recent show of hers.

She played a couple of tracks from the Rev Elijah Baker, Sr, and I loved the second one:

I Never Had It So Good

I love the Soul-Gospel feel, the guitars — and the vocals and backing vocals are sooooo tasty!

It Blesses me so much to listen to this kind of music.

Please give it a spin - I'll bet you'll agree!  : )

Lyrics are posted below.

I Never Had It So Good - Lyrics

I never had it so good,
I never had it so good,

I remember, Oh! Lordy,
When I didn't have a dime,

I remember, Oh! Lordy,
I didn't have shoes on my feet,

But I found a man named named Jesus,
And Jesus came to my rescue,
(That's why we come to church today)

I never had it so good,
I never had it so good,

Repeats

(Let me tell you something - hey)

I used to hear my mother,
Way back down in Louisiana,
She'll be in the kitchen, Yeah!
Cooking up my meal,
She would steal away,
Oh, by herself,
She would go down,
Go down on her knees,
And I could hear her say,

Thank you, Jesus,
Thank you Lord,
Thank you, Jesus,
Thank you Lord!

Repeats

 Hi!

Exactly a month ago, I posted about finding a unique YouTube channel by Destiny Cross — who also goes by the YT handle Shadowca7 — and shared her lovely version of the hymn, Come Unto Me.

You can read that post here: http://godsbigshow.blogspot.com/2017/04/destiny-cross-come-unto-me-with-lyrics.html

I've been happy to discover since my last post about her — I now know for sure she is a Christian — and have listened to other songs she's posted and found another favorite — her cover of For Those Tears I Died - Come to the Water (by Marsha Stevens).

Sung sweetly and gently, accompanying herself with guitar and her own multi-layered angelic harmonies — it leaves me feeling peaceful and Blessed.

And I'm not the only one.  James Muecke posted his testimony in the comments below Destiny's video — and I asked him for permission to publish it here — and you'll find it — and the lyrics to the song just below the video.

James Muecke's YouTube Comment and Testimony

Sweet Spirit: I could listen to you sing forever.

Even though I am a southerner, in the sixties I was hiding
from the draft by drifting up and down the coast of California.
I was without hope, lost and in despair.

Friends I loved had died.In my sorrow, and with no god, I was
pushed to the point of realizing that caring, and any sense of the
value and meaning in life, died with you when you died. Value,
and the meaning is seemed to give to life, had proven to be only
illusions. In the end, death had become my master and sorrow
my ever-present companion.

I knew of no way to be relieved of this sorrow. Drugs were only
a temporary placebo. Then, in the summer of ’68, while grieving
in an old VW van, I came to see that my world view just did not
add up.

For the appearance of value, and the appearance of meaning, to
be so prevalent, yet not to exist, was a state of things that just
did not balance out.  But I did not know. . .

I called out through my tears, “If there is more to life than what
I can see, I want to know. But it’s going to have to find me, because
I can’t find it—and I want it to.”

I remember those exact words nearly fifty years later. This was as
close to a prayer as was in me.

I realized I had gone as far as I could go. If there was meaning to life,
I could not find it. So, what-ever gave meaning to life—if anything—
would have to find me.

I did not know what to expect. I could sense my lifelong search was
over, but I did not “wait” with expectation for an answer. I did not
know if anything was there. If it was there, I did not know whether
it could hear me. If it could hear me, I did not know whether it was
predisposed to answer me, or even whether it could answer me.
Everything was now out of my hands.

Within the day, I unexpectedly met Jesus. I never imagined that He was
really God. What a wonderful surprise.

I was given a peace I never dreamed existed. The turmoil in my
heart was gone. I read later Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you;
My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”

Only a real God could have made such a promise—and be able to
keep it. Only a real God could have known how much I needed that peace.

I also read, “He has given you the whole world to use; life and
even death are your servants, He has given you all the present a
nd all the future, all are your and you belong to Christ. . .”

So, when I was laying in the back of that VW van I was in a
condition where death was my master, and I realized it. Jesus
tells me even death is my servant.

Not long after these things, I found myself at Calvary Chapel in
Costa Mesa. Chuck Smith was still a young man. I heard the
Children of the Day singing Marsha’s new song, “For Those Tears
I Died”.

It quickly became my favorite song of the Jesus Movement. It still
is my favorite song, capturing my life experience.

You have sung it the most beautifully I have ever heard.

For Those Tears I Died - Come to the Water - Lyrics

You said You'd come and share all my sorrows,
You said You'd be there for all my tomorrows;
I came so close to sending You away,
But just like You promised You came there to stay;
I just had to pray!

And Jesus said, "Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied;
I felt ev'ry teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I died."

Your goodness so great I can't understand,
And, dear Lord, I know that all this was planned;
I know You're here now, and always will be,
Your love loosed my chains and in You I'm free;
But Jesus, why me?

And Jesus said, "Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied;
I felt ev'ry teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I died."

Jesus, I give You my heart and my soul,
I know that without God I'll never be whole;
Savior, You opened all the right doors,
And I thank You and praise You from earth's humble shores;
Take me, I'm Yours.

And Jesus said, "Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied;
I felt ev'ry teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I died."
