8 Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. 9 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. 10 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. 11 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

Hi!
Last fall I published a blog post (10-16-13) about Linda Gibson Johnson and her music ministry.
That blog entry included her song "I Got Saved In The Old Time Way" from her Tear Off The Roof CD.
At the time of that post, I'd been able to find little information about her on-line, but did find an address from a bebo.com entry about her, which included an address for her ministry:
Pastor Eli Sanders "testifies" in 1946 (Public Domain)
More recently, I finally sent off a snail-mail letter to that address asking for info about CD's etc and included the web-address for my 10-16-13 post about her, and my e-mail address.
Yesterday I was delighted to find an e-mail from her.
She is indeed very much still alive and ministering!
She wrote that, now and then, she travels and ministers in the same circles as Sharon Brock, in Kentucky and Ohio.
(please refer to my 10-30-13 post about Sister Brock)
Sister Johnson's e-mail indicated that she has three CD's:
Fire, Tear Off the Roof and It Still Takes Old-Time Religion.
(Note: At this time (4-5-14) her first two CD's are on re-order)
Her CD's are available by writing her at the address above and including a check or money order for $12.00. And if you're able to, I encourage you to include a donation for her ministry as well!

Here's Linda Gibson Johnson and "I Call Him My Everything" from her Tear Off The Roof CD (lyrics below):
I Call Him My Everything - Lyrics
Pharisees called Him a devil, 'Cause He brushed their doctrines aside, Soldiers called Him the king of the Jews, And mocked Him as He hung and died,
Pilate called Him an innocent man, Tried to wash blood off his hands, The crowd called aloud that day, Saying crucify that man,
But I call Him Father, Friend, The Beginning and the End, I call Him my Constant Companion, He's been there through the thick and thin, I call Him when there ain't nobody, When it's just me and Him, And I call Him my everything,
Folks 'round about that village, Called Him a carpenter's son, Mary called Him her baby boy, Every evening when the day was done,
The blind man called Him, "Son Of David, Please have mercy on me", He made the lame to walk and the dumb to talk, And He made that blind man see,
(Chorus)
Now, I called Him at an old time altar, When I fell down on my knees, And I called Him in the good times, And the bad times in between,
I called Him to heal my body, And I called Him to ease my mind, I called Him in the midnight hour, And He showed up right on time,
1 I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. 2 Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. 4 One generation commends
your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. 5 They speak of the glorious
splendor of your majesty— and I will meditate on your wonderful works. 6 They tell of the power of
your awesome works— and I will proclaim your great deeds. 7 They celebrate your
abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. ----------------------------------------------

Hello,
I just stumbled on a very beautiful video published on YouTube on Apr 2, 2014 and created by The Piano Guys: http://thepianoguys.com/.
The group consists of Steven Sharp Nelson on Cellos and Jon Schmidt on piano, and they state their goals on their website:
"Our vision is to create music and videos that inspire & uplift.
Whatever we do, we put our heart and souls into every note and frame."
Performing sold out shows all over the world they've set out to create video/performances at the Seven Wonders Of The World (WOTW)...and so far have finished two of them.
- Great Wall In China http://youtu.be/NCaH-qqTWpk (1 of 7) - Chichen Itza, Mexico - Machu Picchu, Peru - Petra, Jordan - The Roman Colosseum, Italy - The Taj Mahal, India
And lastly the subject of this blog post: Their video shot at one WOTW, The Christ the Redeemer Statue in Brazil, and the nearby the Iguazu Falls, and featuring instrumental music from the movie The Mission, and the hymn "How Great Thou Art".
The Piano Guys' YouTube video description may tell it best:
"As our tour of Brazil approached we set our sights on our
next Wonder: Christ the Redeemer. This incredible piece of art soars 10 stories
in the air, stretches 100 feet wide and weighs 1.4 million pounds.
But even more impressive is that it was built in the 1920's on a peak of a
sheer 2,300 ft. cliff overlooking Rio de Janeiro.
Not far from this inspiring statue are the Iguazu Falls -- a
natural Wonder of the World. Made up of 275 waterfalls that stretch across 1.7
miles, to match the amount of water that flows down these falls you
would need 2 million people to each pour a quart of water every second.
As we considered what piece of music would be worthy of such
incomparable locations we looked to songs that have been composed or used to
praise Jesus Christ, for whom the statue was built and who billions believe
created all the natural wonders of this world. We wanted to combine the melody
of the heartfelt hymn of praise "How Great Thou Art" with one of the
most beautiful melodies ever written -- the theme from the movie "The
Mission" ("Gabriel's Oboe.").
12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.13 But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
I heard the gospel song, "The Promise", for the first time on TV this morning...and yet, it seems so familiar that perhaps I HAVE heard it before......
And indeed, after a quick YouTube search I discovered that a decade ago it was first made popular by the gospel trio, The Martins, made up of siblings Joyce Martin Sanders, Jonathan Martin, and Judy Martin Hess.
Winning a 2004 Dove - Southern Gospel Song of the Year, and sung as though the words are spoken by God, it weaves promises found in the bible made by Him to His followers through out it.
For anyone wondering about the "fiery test" they find themselves in...perhaps this song will be a blessing.
I never said that I would give you silver or gold, Or that you would
never feel the fire or shiver in the cold, But I did say you'd
never walk through this world alone, And I did say don't
make this world your home,
I never said that fear wouldn't find you in the night, Or that loneliness
was something you'd never have to fight, But I did say I'd be
right there by your side, And I did say I'll
always help you fight, 'Cause you know I made a promise that I intend to keep, My grace will be
sufficient in every time of need, My love will be the
anchor that you can hold on to, This is the promise,
this is the promise I've made to you, I never said that friends would never turn their backs on
you, Or that the world
around you wouldn't see you as a fool, But I did say like me
you'll surely be despised, And I did say My ways
confound the wise,
I didn't say you'd never taste the bitter kiss of death, Or have to walk through
chilly Jordan to enter into rest, But I did say I'd be
waiting right on the other side, And I did say I'll
dry every tear you cried,
'Cause you know I made a promise that I've prepared a place, And someday sooner
than you think you'll see me face to face, And you'll sing with
the angels and a countless multitude, This is the promise,
this is the promise I've made to you,
So just keep on walking don't turn to the left or right, And in the midst of
darkness let this be your light, That hell can't
separate us and you're gonna make it through, This is the promise,
this is the promise I've made to you,
Oh, this is the
promise, this is the promise I've made to you.......
