9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Beautiful Russian Orthodox Good Friday Service & Music - Bless the Lord, O My Soul

Video Below

---------------------

Happy Good Friday brothers and sisters!

If you are new to Christianity—calling the day we remember that Jesus willingly chose to be tortured, insulted, abused, and nailed to a cross where He died—might seem odd.

But this day is also a celebration because through His act of obedience—Jesus fulfilled His purpose in coming to the earth in human form—to offer us the gift of His Grace and Forgiveness through His sinless life, and sacrificial death and resurrection.

As Jesus exclaimed, just before dying—"It is finished"—signifying that His death had forever removed the barrier of sin between those who believe in Him through faith—and our heavenly Father.

So while we might marvel at Jesus' willingness to die in such a horrible way—knowing the terrible suffering that He endured—we are filled with gratitude for the Blessing of His Gift to us—as we celebrate His Goodness and Mercy to us—our risen King and Savior.

Luke 23:33-29 - Painting: Mihály Munkácsy (1844-1900)

---------------------

If you're like me—and have attended more casual western protestant churches—the pageantry of the Eastern Orthodox Holy Friday Service in the video below might seem very unusual.

But I found the absolutely beautiful vocal only music—along with the ornate robes and setting—very moving and an inspiring tribute to Jesus and His wonderful Gift to us.

The video's description on YouTube adds:

“We remember because we love Jesus and hate what happened to him,” he said. “We love him for his words, we love him for his miracles, and we even love him for his suffering and his death.”

Much of the scripture and prayer during the service was sung rather than spoken, another tradition that dates back to ancient times, when there was no way to amplify a speaker’s voice, Nasser said. “You can hear somebody singing better than you can hear somebody speaking,” he said.

---------------------

I pray you will be Blessed by this video—and that God will fill your heart with His wonderful Love—and bring you Comfort, Healing—as you accept His Grace and follow after Him.

Ryan Stevenson - No Matter What

"Music-Only" Video Below

---------------------

Hello,

This Easter week, Christians celebrate Jesus' life and ultimate Gift to us by His sacrifice on the cross.

Mark tells us that before Passover, Jesus entered into Jerusalem riding a colt, and many people spread their cloaks and leafy branches on the road, and shouted Hosanna (a cry of acclamation and adoration) as he rode into the city.

Mark 11:7-10 - Painting: Entry Of Christ Into Jerusalem - Louis Felix Leullier - (1811 – 1882)

This Friday the 19th is "Good Friday"—when we also remember Jesus was insulted and tormented, beaten and scourged, nailed to a cross—and ultimately died there and was buried in an empty tomb.

Thankfully the story doesn't end there—and three days later Jesus rose from the dead—and is now seated at the right hand of God in Heaven!

His Gift to those who believe in him through faith—is abundant Grace, Mercy, Forgiveness, Healing and Eternal Life with Him in Heaven—where He will wipe away every tear from our eyes and there is no pain or sorrow.

Someday soon, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord!

Philippians 2:5-10

--------------------------------------------------------

Below you'll find a "music-only" video for Ryan Stevenson's song, No Matter What—that speaks to the unfailing love our Heavenly Father has for us—and that we can have Salvation and Grace—if we believe in the Perfect Gift of His only Son, Jesus the Christ.

No Matter What - Lyrics

A lot of us grew up believing
At any moment we could lose it all
And at the drop of a hat
God might turn his back and move on

A lot of us feel like we blew it
Thinking that we're just too far gone
But I want you to know
There’s still a hope for you now

No matter what you've done
You can't erase His love
Nothing can change it
You’re not separated
No matter what

There’s never been a better time to get honest
There’s never been a better time to get clean
So come as you are
Run to the cross and be free
Oh be free

No matter what you've done
You can't erase His love
Nothing can change it
You’re not separated

No matter where you run
He's always holding on
You're still a daughter
You’re still a son
No matter what

Don't know what you've been taught
Don't know what you’ve been told
All I know is my God
Will never let go of you

And I don't know what you've seen
Don't know what you've been through
All I know is my God
Will never let go of you
He'll never let go

No matter what you've done
You can't erase His love
Nothing can change it
You’re not separated

No matter where you run
He's always holding on
You're still a daughter
You’re still a son
No matter what

You're still a daughter
You’re still a son
No matter what

Shawn Jones & The Believers - I'm Depending on You

Hello brothers and sisters,

Today's music is from Shawn Jones & The Believers and their Gospel song, "I'm Depending on You."

There is something deeply touching about listening to Shawn Jones sing about his need for Jesus as Lord—knowing that he went to his Eternal reward during a 2017 performance.

There is sadness for those who remain and miss Jones' earthly presence—but the Bible reminds us—this life is not the end—and if we cling to Jesus as Lord and Savior—we will live eternally in God's presence, where He will wipe away every tear and there will be no more pain or suffering.

I pray that as you listen God will permeate your heart with His Truth—and that He will flood you with the knowledge of His Love, Healing, Mercy, and Grace.

I'm Depending on You - Lyrics

Growing up as a child
In my mother's care
My mother told me
He (Jesus) will always be there

Now, I'm a grown man
Living on my own
I can truly say
Jesus, he ain't never left me alone

Every now and then I have to tell Him

Lord I'm depending on you

Repeats with variations

I'm depending on Jesus!

Lord Remember Me - Albertina Walker

 Hello brothers and sisters,

Today's video features the late Albertina Walker,  the "Queen of Gospel Music," singing Lord Remember Me in front of a packed and exuberant little church.

She is backed by an awesome choir and talented band—and by the end of the song the congregation is filling the air with joyful shouts and praise to the Lord!

The lyrics are based on what the thief said to Jesus on the cross:

Luke 23:33 and 39-43 - Painting: Bertalan Székely de Ádámos (1835-1910) - "Golgotha"

What a beautiful gift Jesus gave—when He suffered and died for us.

The story doesn't end there, though—because three days later Jesus rose from the dead—securing our salvation and eternal life if we believe and call on Him as Lord and Savior.

Prophecy About Jesus From Isaiah 53:11-12

Oh! Lord Remember Me - Lyrics

Verse 1:

When on the cross of Calvary
The Lord was crucified
The mob stood 'round about Him
And they mocked Him until He died

And there were two thieves
Hanging there beside Him
Just to share the agony
But one of them
Cried out to Him
Oh! Lord remember me

Verse 2:

Oh! What a shame to kill Him
Out there on that old rugged cross
But such a death was needed
Just to rescue all of us that was lost

Oh! His blood is made a ransom
Just to set the captives free
I know that I'm included
And I know God will remember me

Chorus:

Oh! Will the Lord remember me
When I am called to go
When I have crossed death's chilly sea
Will He His love there show

Oh, yes! He heard my feeble cries
From bondage set me FREE!
And when I reach the pearly gates
I know He will remember me

To Verse 2

Andrew Peterson - Is He Worthy?

Hi!

In 2018, Andrew Peterson released a video for his gentle and lovely Praise and Worship song, Is He Worthy?

According to the video's description—it was filmed in a in a single continuous take—beginning with Peterson accompanying himself on piano seated alone in a beautiful church—with an unseen choir heard echoing answers to his lyrical questions.

As the steady camera moves in and pans around him—it then reveals the choir who've joined him in the still otherwise "empty" church.

After strings are added musically—the camera moves back and then reveals a small string ensemble who've also been moved into view.

This "trick" is repeated for a percussionist—and ultimately shows the church now filled with people in the pews.

The video is a lovely compliment to a beautiful song about our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Messiah.

I pray as you listen you'll feel His presence and Spirit—and be drawn to the Lord of Light—The Worthy King of kings, and Savior—Jesus the Christ!

Is He Worthy? - Lyrics

Do you feel the world is broken?
(We do)
Do you feel the shadows deepen?
(We do)
But do you know that all the dark
Won't stop the light from getting through?
(We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new?
(We do)

Is all creation groaning?
(It is)
Is a new creation coming?
(It is)
Is the glory of the Lord
To be the Light within our midst?
(It is)
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this?
(It is)

Is anyone worthy, is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal, and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah, who conquered the grave
He is David's root and the Lamb
Who died to ransom the slave
Is He worthy, is He worthy
Of all blessing and honor and glory?
Is He worthy of this?
He is!

Does the Father truly love us?
(He does)
Does the Spirit move among us?
(He does)
And does Jesus our Messiah
Hold forever those He loves?
(He does)
Does our God intend to dwell again with us?
(He does)

From every people and tribe, every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God
To reign with the Son
Is He worthy, is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory?

Is He worthy, is He worthy?
Is He worthy of this?

He is!

Is He worthy?

He is!
