Gospel Reggae— DaJourney - Break Every Chain

John 14: 6

Hi!

Hope you are feeling Blessed!

Today you'll find a "music-only" video from DaJouney and his Gospel Reggae version of Break Every Chain.

This beautiful song was written by Will Reagan and first performed by United Church Band.

But it has clearly struck a chord with Christians around the world — and many others have performed and/or recorded it — including Tasha Cobbs and Jesus Culture.

While sorting through the many versions — I found one by DaJourney who puts a Reggae Gospel vibe to it — and LOVE what he did with it.

The lyrics are beautiful in any version — but DJourney adds some unique verses to his recording.

Hope you'll agree — and let our Lord Jesus pour His love and Comfort out on your heart and spirit as you listen!

Lyrics below

Break Every Chain - Lyrics

Hallelujah!
Does anybody believe there's power in the name of Jesus?

Troubled waters all around me — I won't fear
(I won't fear)
Lord, You promise where I am that You'll be there
(You'll be there)
My burdens pressing in — My heart is in despair
(In despair)
So many things are preventing me from calling Your name

I know my head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
Some say I'm crazy
And I'm out of my mind

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)
There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)
There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain —
Every chain is broken — Yeah
Break every chain
Oh — Yeah —

You gave Your all for me
I give my all to You
Love Your Kindness and Mercy
You're my drink when I am thirsty

You gave Your all for me
I'll give my all to You
Love Your Kindness and Mercy
You're my drink when I am thirsty — yeah....

I know my head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
Some say I'm crazy —
And I'm out of my mind

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
To break every chain
To break every chain

There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)
There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)
There's an army rising up
(Rising — Rising)

To break every chain
To break every chain
Break every chain

I hear the chains broken
I hear the chains falling
I hear the chains broken
I hear the chains falling!

Romans 10:9-10

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

  1. Hi Jephyr,
Absolutely POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS to break every chain. We must not allow the enemy to cause us to look at the 'tribulation in the sea'. If we keep our eyes on Jesus, then we shall WALK ON WATER.
    God bless you for sharing.
