Destiny Cross - Come Unto Me - With Lyrics

(Jesus said), “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

-----------------------------

Hi!

I was in search of an older (1970's) Christian song and was using Google and YouTube to try and find it.

As often happens — I started surfing from one link to the next until I landed on a very unique channel on YouTube— one unlike any I've found before.

Created by a young woman, Destiny Cross, who also goes by ShadowCa7, she shares video game, cosplay, children's stories, and music videos — in a gentle, peaceful, unaffected way.

Although her channel is not specifically all Christian themes - I believe that her love of the Lord comes pouring through (in everything I've seen so far).

On her channel I found a very beautiful cover of "Come Unto Me" — and you'll find that video embedded below along with it's lyrics underneath it.

Sung in a very high, sweet and soft voice, she accompanies herself on guitar and layers beautiful harmonies over the top.

She offers her music for free as downloads and you can visit her website here:

Destiny Cross - Come Unto Me COVER:

Lyrics: Come Unto Me

Hear the blessed Savior calling the oppressed,
"Oh, ye heavy-laden, come to Me and rest;
Come, no longer tarry, I your load will bear,
Bring Me every burden, bring Me every care."

CHORUS:
Come unto Me, I will give you rest;
Take My yoke upon you, hear Me and be Blessed;
I am meek and lowly, come and trust my might;
Come, My yoke is easy, and My burdens light.

Are you disappointed, wand'ring here and there,
Dragging chains of doubt and loaded down with care?
Do unholy feelings struggle in your breast?
Bring your case to Jesus --- He will give you rest.

CHORUS

Stumbling on the mountains dark with sin and shame,
Stumbling toward the pit of Hell's consuming flame;
By the pow'rs of sin deluded and oppressed,
Hear the tender Shepherd, "Come to Me and rest."

CHORUS

Have you by temptation often conquered been,
Has a sense of weakness brought distress within?
Christ will sanctify you, if you'll claim His best;
In the Holy Spirit, He will give you rest.

CHORUS

-------------------------------------------------

Thanks so much for stopping by!

May God Richly Bless you!

Jesus is LORD!

Seek Him!

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

  1. I first heard this rendering of the song in 1958 on the radio Cincinnati Ohio, sung by Jackie and Arlen Vaden on the Vaden label record.
