Another Blessing - Lyrics

Spoken:

I like to take a little time out to thank God
For the many Blessings He's given me
When I look back over my life
And I see where He's brought me from
I can truly say

Singing:

That I've been Blessed

Let me say this

Woke up this morning
Got out of my bed
I looked around
Here's what I said
Thank you Lord, for the blood You shed
You've put a roof up over my head

Thank you Lord, for another day
All these blessings, you sent my way
I coulda been dead, in some lonesome grave
But you told death, told it to get back and behave...

Ooooo-Weeee
Another Blessing
x4

Lee Williams sing....

I've never seen the righteous forsaken
Nor his seed begging for bread
I can count on God
He won't let me down
He always do just what he said

Pain and sufferin', He brought me through
Arms wide open
He always welcomes you
I've been blessed in so many ways
I just lift my hands and give God all the praise!

Chorus

I got my legs and I can walk (Another blessing)
I got my tongue ya'll, and I can talk (Another Blessing)
Even the air that I receive (Another Blessing)
I got my lungs and I can breathe (Another Blessing)

When I look around I can see (Another Blessing)
All of the Blessings He's given to me (Another Blessing)
He's Blessed my family and they're doing fine (Another Blessing)
Gave me peace, gave me peace of mind (Another Blessing)

Thank God!

How Can I Keep From Singing - Audrey Assad

Hello brothers and sisters!

Embedded below you'll find the music video with lyrics for How Can I Keep From Singing by Audrey Assad.

According to a Wikipedia entry—this song (also known as My Life Flows On in Endless Song)—is a traditional Christian hymn written by an American preacher, Robert Lowry (1826 – 1899), who wrote more than 500 hymns—including "Shall We Gather at the River", "Christ Arose!" and "Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus"'

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Lowry_(hymn_writer)

It's wonderful that his music still resonates in the Church—and acts as a continuing testament of his faith and love for our Savior—and the transforming power of Jesus the Lord in each of our lives as we humble ourselves before Him and call upon His name!

How Can I Keep From Singing - Lyrics

 My life flows on in endless song;

            Above earth's lamentation,

        I hear the sweet, tho' far-off hymn

            That hails a new creation;

        Through all the tumult and the strife

            I hear the music ringing;

        It finds an echo in my soul—

            How can I keep from singing?

        What though my joys and comforts die?

            The Lord my Savior liveth;

        What though the darkness gather round?

            Songs in the night he giveth.

        No storm can shake my inmost calm

            While to that refuge clinging;

        Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth,

            How can I keep from singing?

        I lift my eyes; the cloud grows thin;

            I see the blue above it;

        And day by day this pathway smooths,

            Since first I learned to love it,

        The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart,

            A fountain ever springing;

        All things are mine since I am His—

            How can I keep from singing?

        No storm can shake my inmost calm

            While to that refuge clinging;

        Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth,

            How can I keep from singing?

1 Timothy 2:1-8

With Lifted Hands - Lyrics

I have tasted
All that this world has to offer
The here and gone that leaves you wanting more
But can't satisfy

Father, forgive me for taking so long to see
That You're all I need

With every heartbeat in my chest
Lord, I surrender all that I have
The days yet to come, the days in the past
I'm giving You all I am
With lifted hands, with lifted hands

You show me mercy
When I've done nothing to deserve it
You see the best in me beneath the dust
Because that's how You love, that's how You love

You rush through my veins
I'm wrecked and I'm changed and
My soul will sing

With every heartbeat in my chest
Lord, I surrender all that I have
The days yet to come, the days in the past
I'm giving You all I am
With lifted hands, with lifted hands

Heaven or grave
There is no place
I can go to escape
Your love,

So with every heartbeat in my chest
Lord, I surrender all that I have
The days yet to come and the days in the past
I'm giving You all, all that I am
I'm giving You all, all that I am
With lifted hands, with lifted hands
With lifted hands, with lifted hands

Music: Cynthia Clawson - Three Songs From HymnSinger

6-11-19:  This post was originally added to this blog 6 years ago to the month (6-4-13) but the "music-only" video was removed—and after a LOT of searching around that time an alternative could not be found.

Fortunately—I just discovered that someone uploaded it again—and so this old blog post can at last be shared again.

: )

I pray—as always—that it will Bless you—and speak into your heart and life the wondrous love of our Lord and Savior—Jesus the Messiah!

--------------------------

Hi!

When I was young and my musical tastes leaned towards rock, pop and/or blues—and I wanted to think of the people performing it as trendy and super cool—but somewhere along the way I wound up with an album by Cynthia Clawson called "Hymnsinger."

To my YOUNG eyes, the album photos appeared to show a woman who wasn't wearing an up to date hair style and outwardly lacked the flash and charisma I expected from the performers I wanted to associate myself with.

Fortunately I still gave her music a listen—and I was struck by how absolutely beautiful it was.

Cynthia seemed to sing from her heart—in a worshipful way—with a beautiful voice, drenched in emotion and tone...and she was completely unlike any pop or rock singers I admired at the time.

I found myself really responding to each track.

The cover of Cynthia Clawson's "Always"

As far as I know she never became a darling of the Christian music market—and I've only seen her on TV once or twice in all the years since I first heard of her—and as far as I've listened to Christian radio through the years—her music seems to have mostly been ignored.

Tonight, while listening to some music on YouTube, I thought of her for some reason and looked for her music.

The very first video I landed on was a selection of songs from her album "Hymnsinger", a medley of: There Is A Balm In Gilead, Day By Day, I Need Thee Every Hour and Be Still, My Soul.

Wow! Ok...I admit I love these songs and hope you do too.

--------------------------------

Lyrics for each song in this medley are found below.

Enjoy!

BTW—If you're like me and are wondering: The meaning of the term "The Balm of Gilead" comes from old testament references, and the hymn is meant to call Christians to God's "spiritual medicine" that is available to us for the healing our bodies and souls.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

--------------------------------------------------

Lyrics:

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin-sick soul.
Sometimes I feel discouraged,
And think my life’s in vain,
But then the Holy Spirit
Revives my soul again.

Day By Day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find, to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

I Need Thee, Oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.

Be Still, My Soul; the Lord is on my side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin-sick soul.

So Many Times The Lord Made A Way For Me - Lyrics

So many times
The Lord made a way for me 2X

He picked me up
Oh! Yes, He did
And turned me around
He placed my feet
On a solid ground

Chorus

When I was sick, oh Jesus
And thought I wouldn't get well
You healed this old body, my Lord
And now I can tell

Chorus

Now sometimes I was up, Oh! Yes, I was
And sometimes I was down
Lord, seemed like I was never
Never to, to the ground

Chorus

Now when I was lost, lost, lost Jesus
And couldn't find my way
You stepped right in,
And showed me the way

Lord I thank you I want to thank you
For holding me
You've been so good so good, to, to, me

I Praise You - Lyrics

You've been good —Yeah! - Oh! Lord I thank You!

Spoken: You know I think back to when I was  a little girl
And my momma used to drag me to church - uh-huh
Yeah, we didn't have a choice about it back then
But she would get her "Praise On"

And I would just watch her
Didn't mean much to me at the time
But see now, now that I can drag mine in - uh-huh
I know what it's all about to lift my hands
Do my thing
And give Him praise

Every morning, Every day
I bow my head and I start to pray
Every evening, Come what may
I think of your Goodness
And all I can say is

I praise you
(I praise You because You've been so Good)
Been Good — I praise You
(I praise You because I know that I should)
Know that I praise You
(I praise You because You brought me out)
I praise You
(I praise You because you rid all my doubts)
Said, I praise You
(I praise You)
 I praise You
(I praise You)
Lord, I praise You
(I praise You)

Spoken:  Now see you need to take a little time out for yourself
Think about what He's done in your life
(I praise You)

For I can see
I thank the Lord for all He's given me
He saved my soul
He made me whole
He rescued me
Gave me victory

Chorus

Repeats with variations

I praise YOU!
